Job Description:

Principal Highway Engineer 

Dubai, UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Principal Highway Engineer  to join our team! In this role you will get to design & manage a Highway team for developing large highway & infrastructure projects. The role will require extensive understanding of road, civil and infrastructure standards, applying best engineering practices, following Parsons high quality standards. The candidate shall have the confidence for resolving challenging geometric constraints, considering value engineering enhancements in every project aspect, able to coordinate with various internal and external departments.  

What You'll Be Doing:

• Overseeing engineering team, leading and reviewing ongoing project work.

• Responsible for developing and checking engineering drawings, reports, specifications.

• Developing highway plan layouts and profiling, checking key geometric elements (using appropriate Road Design Software) of complicated road design schemes as part of Preliminary / Feasibility Studies.

• Supporting Design Manager with engineering task assignments.

• Support Proposal Managers.

• Daily routine overview of project deliverables.

• Conducting engineering reviews.

• Coordinating deliverables with CAD and BIM teams.

• Resource management.

• Report writing.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• Degree in Civil engineering from a reputable university.

• Minimum 13 years of experience in major highway design projects, including interchange Design, expressways.

• Experienced in road design, design review and discipline coordination for Masterplanning Development Projects.

• Excellent Design knowledge of local (UAE) and international standards.

• Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English.

• Proficiency in report writing and presentation skills.

• Proven expertise in Design Software skills such as Civil 3D, Bentley Inroads / Openroads.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

• Road Safety and BIM knowledge.

• Establishment of Advanced Directional Signage Strategy.

• Prior experience leading a team of Design engineers.

• Material specifications related to highways and civil works.

• Pavement design knowledge.

• Masters degree.
