Cost Estimator
Location: Houston, TX
Employment Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Work Schedule: Hybrid — 4 days in office, 1 day remote
Salary: $110,000–$125,000 annually
Bonus: 5% discretionary, not guaranteed
Position Overview
The Cost Estimator will develop cost estimates and execution plans for large-scale dredging and marine construction projects. This role works closely with project teams and senior leadership and offers opportunities for professional growth and exposure to major infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for competitive bid projects.
- Review and summarize project plans and specifications.
- Create clear overview drawings for presentations and project discussions.
- Present estimates and project plans to senior management.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to estimate development.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and other support teams.
- Manage multiple project tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Provide estimating support to project managers during construction.
- Monitor project costs, production, and budgets throughout project execution.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
- Experience estimating or bidding on large-scale projects, including projects valued at $25 million or more.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
