The Position
Quality ManagerJob Summary
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Develop and steer implementation of site Quality Management roadmap maintaining the right balance between Quality Assurance (lead internal & external certification activities) and Quality Control (responsible for all laboratory activities)
Manage and monitor the site’s Quality and Environmental Management System effectiveness (KPI, audits, management review, customer relationship, …) and steer its continuous improvement to ensure that only fit-for-use product is made and delivered to customers
As Site customer intimacy referent, maintain a very high level of customer satisfaction on the short-term (manage audits / specifications / complaints, answer questions, manage key accounts) to generate long-term opportunities (coordination of new products and new processes development)
JOB SCOPE/DIMENSIONS
Management of the Quality department: QAQC Engineer, QC analysts
Raw material validation: clearance for each batch of delivery
Maintain the ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification; lead implementation of Business Area roadmap at site level and participate to working groups and seminar
Part of Imerys Talc BElgium Management Team; Leadership for all Quality related topics (Customer Management, Fit-for-use production & delivery, New business Development, Audits, …)
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Interface with production, technical, administrative, commercial and external personnel for all quality aspects of the ITBE operation.
Supervise the quality department and assure its business continuity
Assure that staff is trained on quality of the product and quality system:
Coaching and education w.r.t. ISO standards and legislation
Coaching and education w.r.t. agreed customer requirements
Coaching and education w.r.t. continuous improvement in Quality performance
Assure the reporting on Quality KPIs to the site manager and to the group Quality manager and define remediations where appropriate
Prepare, lead and follow-up of: certifications, audits, management reviews, CAPAs, NCs, MoCs…
Education:
Bachelor degree in Engineering or Science
Other qualifications:
Master degree in Engineering or Science is an advantage
Experience:
10 years relevant professional experience in an industrial environment. At least 2 years experience with a mineral processing facility and / or laboratory is highly desirable.
Continuous improvement experience.
Previous work with Quality and ISO standards is a mandatory
