About the Role (summary):
The Press Brake operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, form, and fabricate metal parts according to engineering drawings, specifications and production schedules. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of metal fabrication processes, and a commitment to producing high-quality products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC and/or manual press brake machines to manufacture metal components according to specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, drawings, and production work orders/schedules.
- Select appropriate tooling, dies, and machine settings for each job.
- Measure and inspect finished products using calipers, tape measure, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Maintain production records and accurately report completed work.
- Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality associates to resolve production issues.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 3 years of press brake operator experience.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints / drawings.
- Knowledge of metal fabrication processes and sheet metal forming techniques.
- Experience using precision measuring equipment.
- Strong attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience operating CNC press brakes (Amada, Trumpf, Cincinnati, or similar equipment).
- Experience with ERP software systems.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods during scheduled shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, each and lift materials.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
