Job Summary:
The Technical Specialist serves as a technical-commercial leader supporting the growth of CSA Group's Data Center and Industrial Equipment business. This role partners closely with Business Development Managers, Operations, and customers to identify, develop, and win strategic opportunities across hyperscale, colocation, semiconductor, industrial manufacturing, and critical infrastructure markets.
The Technical Specialist provides industry expertise, customer guidance, market intelligence, and technical-commercial leadership throughout the customer lifecycle. The role acts as a bridge between customer requirements, commercial objectives, and CSA Group's technical capabilities to accelerate growth and strengthen customer relationships.
Principal Responsibilities:
Market Development & Customer Engagement
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the data center and industrial ecosystem, including owners, operators, OEMs, engineering firms, contractors, and technology providers.
Support strategic customer engagement by providing industry expertise and technical-commercial guidance.
Participate in customer meetings, industry events, conferences, and trade associations to strengthen CSA Group's market presence.
Identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive developments.
Technical-Commercial Leadership
Act as a subject matter resource for Data Center and Industrial Equipment opportunities.
Support Business Development Managers in qualifying and developing complex opportunities.
Assist customers in understanding CSA Group service offerings, certification pathways, and compliance strategies.
Coordinate with Operations and Technical teams to align customer requirements with CSA Group capabilities.
Provide guidance on market requirements, standards landscape, and customer expectations.
Strategic Growth Initiatives
Support the expansion of CSA Group's presence within hyperscale data centers, colocation providers, semiconductor manufacturers, and industrial customers.
Help identify new service opportunities and growth strategies for target market segments.
Collaborate on account planning and penetration strategies for key accounts.
Develop relationships that create long-term growth opportunities for CSA Group.
Team Leadership & Knowledge Sharing
Mentor commercial team members on industry trends, customer challenges, and market dynamics.
Help strengthen the technical understanding of Business Development Managers and commercial staff.
Share industry intelligence and best practices across the organization.
Support internal training and knowledge transfer initiatives.
Success Measures

Preferred Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
Experience within data centers, critical infrastructure, industrial equipment, electrical systems, semiconductors, or related industries.
Demonstrated success in customer-facing technical, commercial, business development, account management, or market development roles.
Strong understanding of customer buying processes and technical decision-making environments.
Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to engage effectively with both technical and executive-level customer stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority and successfully work across multiple functions.
