empowOR by CSST, a part of Jonas, a web-based client, services, and results tracking software for Community Action Agencies, non-profits, and local governments. Their software is designed to help these organizations manage their daily operations, track client progress, and report on outcomes. It supports a "Whole Family" approach to case management.
Tech Specialist – Fabric & Integrations
Role Summary
The Tech Specialist II – Fabric & Integrations is responsible for supporting and maintaining the organization's data integration ecosystem, including Laserfiche solutions, Microsoft Fabric environments, Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines, and customer-facing integrations. This role ensures reliable data flows, healthy infrastructure performance, successful module configurations, and effective troubleshooting while collaborating closely with reporting, engineering, DevOps, and migration teams.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong, capable of diagnosing issues across multiple systems, and able to make sound escalation decisions when required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Laserfiche Administration & Support
Build and maintain Laserfiche forms, workflows, and applications.
Design business processes and forms with appropriate field logic and rules.
Troubleshoot and resolve Laserfiche Forms issues by identifying where problems exist within the overall business process.
Implement CSS and JavaScript customizations to support advanced form functionality.
Prioritize and groom requests for stored procedure changes that provide data to forms.
Ensure the Reporting & Integrations Manager has sufficient information, requirements, and timelines when coordination with Engineering is required.
Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and troubleshooting for Laserfiche solutions.
2. Microsoft Fabric Infrastructure & Performance Monitoring
Monitor Microsoft Fabric capacity, workspace health, and overall performance.
Identify degradation trends, capacity constraints, and operational risks.
Escalate performance or capacity concerns to the Reporting & Integrations Manager when appropriate.
Support Fabric workspace configuration and routine administration.
Assist in diagnosing and resolving performance issues affecting reporting and data assets hosted within Fabric.
3. Data Pipeline Operations & Integration Support
Monitor, support, and troubleshoot Microsoft Fabric data pipelines and scheduled data processes.
Maintain and support Azure Data Factory (ADF) pipelines.
Implement minor enhancements and improvements to ADF pipelines.
Investigate pipeline failures and data movement issues.
Escalate complex issues requiring Engineering or DevOps involvement.
Ensure reliable delivery and processing of integrated customer data.
4. Customer Module & Integration Configuration
Assist with customer implementation and module setup activities.
Configure and validate access for:
SFTP environments
CADS
Laserfiche
Other supported integration components
Coordinate with the DevOps Senior Manager regarding SFTP file and folder structure configuration and access requirements.
5. Quality Assurance & Release Validation
Perform QA testing on bug fixes and enhancements developed by other team members.
Execute defined test scenarios and validate related functionality.
Document testing results and observations within task discussions.
Follow established QA processes, including pass/fail validation procedures.
Help ensure releases within the team's domain meet quality standards before deployment.
6. Data Migration Support
Participate in customer data migration projects as assigned.
Perform data transformation, reshaping, preparation, and loading activities.
Execute migration tasks according to migration plans established by the Reporting & Integrations Manager.
Support successful delivery of migration initiatives.
7. Strategic & Cross-Functional Projects
Participate in strategic initiatives and special projects that support organizational goals.
Collaborate with Reporting, Engineering, DevOps, and Data Migration teams.
Contribute technical expertise to ongoing improvement efforts and future platform enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
1. Technical Skills
Experience with Laserfiche Forms, Workflows, or similar business process automation platforms.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Fabric.
Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) or similar data pipeline technologies.
Understanding of data integration concepts, including:
SFTP
Scheduled jobs
File-based imports and exports
Data movement and synchronization processes
Familiarity with CSS and JavaScript for form customization.
Basic scripting experience in Python or a similar language is considered an asset.
2. Operational & Analytical Skills
Ability to monitor system health, performance, and capacity.
Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
Ability to assess issue severity and determine appropriate escalation paths.
Experience working in a support-oriented technical environment.
Ability to follow and execute structured QA processes and test plans.
3. Collaboration & Communication
Comfortable working cross-functionally with DevOps, Engineering, Reporting, and Customer Success teams.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
Able to manage multiple requests and competing priorities effectively.

Career Path
This role serves as the integrations and infrastructure counterpart to the Tech Specialist II – Reporting position. While the Reporting track focuses primarily on Power BI reporting and analytics development, the Fabric & Integrations track focuses on:
Laserfiche administration and support
Microsoft Fabric platform operations
Data pipeline monitoring and maintenance
Customer integration configuration
Both roles share responsibilities for quality assurance, module setup support, data migration activities, and strategic initiatives, with progression aligned to the Tech Specialist II → Tech Specialist III career path.
