Position Summary
The Systems Technician provides technical support for the Commercial Music Program's performance venues, broadcast facilities, recording equipment and classroom technologies. This position assists with the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of professional audio, video, lighting, and networking systems used for live productions, broadcasts, and recording sessions.
Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and strike professional audio, video, and lighting systems for performances, concerts, productions, and broadcasts.
- Assist with technical operations in studios, theatrical venues, and broadcast facilities and classrooms.
- Configure and operate digital audio consoles and signal routing systems.
- Assist with maintenance, troubleshooting, and organization of production equipment.
- Support faculty and students during productions, broadcast, and special events.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored, maintained, and ready for use.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Valid Drivers License and Clean Driving Record required
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of professional audio, video, and lighting systems.
- Experience setting up Blackmagic Design switchers and cameras.
- Experience with Allen & Heath and Behringer audio consoles.
- Knowledge of Dante audio networking.
- Experience with Pro Tools and Ableton Live.
- Familiarity with DMX lighting control systems including GrandMA and Light Key
- Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.

- Enrolled at GCU as a full-time student in a Bachelor’s program or Master’s program.
- Retain a 2.0 GPA as a Bachelor level student or a 3.0 GPA as a Master level student.
