Nova Biologicals, a Tentamus Company, in Conroe, Texas, is looking for a Laboratory Media Technician to join our team. This hands-on laboratory position supports daily operations through media preparation, sterilization, laboratory upkeep, and accurate documentation. WHAT YOU'LL DO
Working under the direction of the Lab Supervisor, the Laboratory Media Technician helps keep daily laboratory operations running efficiently and ensures necessary media, supplies, and equipment are properly prepared and maintained. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and sterilize laboratory media using appropriate aseptic techniques.
- Maintain media inventory, including stocking, labeling, rotating, and monitoring media to preserve integrity.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation in accordance with applicable protocols and quality standards, including GMP, NELAP/TNI, and ISO 17025.
- Prepare reports and summarize laboratory data using Excel, LIMS, and applicable instrument software while following Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
- Operate the autoclave and properly dispose of laboratory biohazardous waste.
- Clean and sterilize laboratory glassware, equipment, and supplies.
- Assist with general laboratory cleaning and maintenance.
- Support laboratory projects and perform additional duties as operational needs change.
POSITION & SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, onsite position at Nova Biologicals in Conroe, Texas. The regular schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is eligible for overtime, and occasional weekend work may be required.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
The ideal candidate has an interest in laboratory work, strong attention to detail, and the ability to follow established procedures consistently. Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, or a related scientific field.
- Previous experience in a laboratory environment, preferably an analytical laboratory.
- Familiarity with laboratory terminology and procedures.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques preferred.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and LIMS.
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restrictions or sponsorship.
