The successful candidate will bring strong customer service, communication, responsibility, and follow-through along with a developing technical foundation. This role provides an excellent opportunity for an early-career IT professional to gain hands-on exposure to sophisticated client environments while continuing to grow their systems engineering skills.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Support Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Entra ID
  • Assist with basic systems administration across Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, identity, access, and endpoint-management technologies
  • Identify when technical issues require escalation and collaborate with Systems Engineers, Senior Systems Engineers, and other technical resources through resolution
  • Maintain accurate ticket notes, technical documentation, procedures, and client-environment information
  • Follow Atlas Technica and client security standards, documentation expectations, and strict change-control procedures
  • Communicate proactively with users and internal technical teams regarding issue status, resolution, and follow-up
  • Support onsite technology initiatives and travel periodically to other customer office locations within the Chicago metropolitan area as required

Requirements:

  • 1+ year of relevant IT experience in desktop support, service desk, systems administration, systems engineering, or a related technical environment
  • Hands-on end-user and desktop support experience across Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and common workplace technologies
  • Experience supporting or administering Microsoft 365 environments, including Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Intune, or Microsoft Entra ID
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related systems-administration concepts
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LAN/WAN, wireless networking, and firewalls
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a professional, customer-focused approach
  • Strong responsibility, organization, documentation, and follow-through with the ability to take ownership of assigned work
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced support environment
  • Ability to work onsite within the assigned Chicago client environment and travel periodically to other client locations within the metropolitan area
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements necessary to support onsite IT operations, including occasionally lifting or carrying equipment up to 50 lbs., sitting or standing for extended periods, climbing stairs, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and safely accessing workstations, equipment, and other onsite IT areas as required

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience working within a Managed Service Provider or other multi-client support environment
  • Financial services experience supporting hedge funds, private equity firms, investment managers, or similar organizations
  • Familiarity with financial market applications such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, FactSet, or Capital IQ
  • Experience with ConnectWise or similar service-management platforms
  • Exposure to endpoint protection solutions such as Sophos or similar technologies
