- Prepare detailed cost estimates and quantity takeoffs from plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Analyze project requirements, scope, and potential risks to determine appropriate pricing strategy.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and field staff to understand constructability and productivity rates.
- Solicit and review subcontractor and vendor quotes.
- Assist in the development and submission of competitive bid proposals.
- Participate in bid reviews and pre-bid meetings.
- Maintain up-to-date unit pricing and historical cost data.
- Support post-bid transition to operations with clear and organized estimate documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of estimating experience in civil construction, site development, or infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and methods.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., HCSS, Bluebeam, Excel).
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
