Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.

Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.

At Micron Technology, our manufacturing and process engineering teams drive innovation in semiconductor fabrication through advanced process development, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Engineers in this organization collaborate across process, equipment, quality, and manufacturing functions to deliver world-class memory solutions while improving yield, quality, cost, and reliability.

As a Fab Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining semiconductor manufacturing processes to support high-volume production. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve process issues, improve process capability, enhance product performance, and implement new materials, equipment, and technologies. The role requires strong analytical skills, data-driven decision making, and the ability to leverage modern digital and AI-enabled tools to improve engineering productivity and manufacturing outcomes.

##

## Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and sustain semiconductor fabrication processes to improve yield, quality, reliability, productivity, and manufacturing cost performance.
  • Analyze process excursions and manufacturing issues using methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis, and 8D problem-solving to drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Evaluate, qualify, and implement new equipment, materials, process recipes, and technology changes while ensuring compliance with performance and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering, manufacturing, and supplier teams to reduce process variation, improve process capability, and support new product introductions.
  • Utilize data analytics, Generative AI, AI-enabled tools, and automation solutions to improve workflow efficiency, develop analytical insights, and support data-driven decision making.

##

## Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, Semiconductor Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in process development, process optimization, or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
  • Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process monitoring methodologies.
  • Experience managing technical projects and coordinating activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience applying AI, Generative AI, or AI-assisted tools to improve engineering workflows, data analysis, problem solving, or productivity.

##

## Preferred Qualifications

  • Proficiency in data analysis and automation tools, including SQL, Tableau, and Python, with the ability to perform data mining, develop dashboards, and drive data-driven decisions.
  • Experience using Generative AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT/GPT, or other approved AI-assisted technologies to automate workflows, develop applications, and enhance engineering productivity.
  • Hands-on experience with LAM KIYO etch systems, including process development, chamber matching, qualification, troubleshooting, SPC monitoring, and yield improvement activities.
  • Advanced expertise with JMP for statistical analysis, Design of Experiments (DOE), process optimization, capability studies, regression analysis, and data visualization.
  • Demonstrated workstation leadership experience, including leading cross-functional teams, managing engineering priorities, influencing stakeholders, and driving process improvement initiatives to achieve operational and quality objectives.
