About This Opportunity

Join a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing academic community committed to creating change through outstanding legal education. This teaching-focused opportunity will contribute to the delivery of undergraduate core law courses, including the prescribed areas of knowledge required for admission to legal practice, while supporting student success, pedagogical innovation and educational leadership across the School of Law. Working alongside passionate colleagues, you will help shape the next generation of legal professionals through contemporary learning experiences that inspire, challenge and reward students.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Teaching: Teach compulsory and elective law courses across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, coordinate courses, develop innovative curriculum and assessment materials, and enhance student learning and engagement through evidence-based teaching practices.

  • Research and/or Teaching Practice and Impact: Contribute to the School's culture of educational excellence through leadership in teaching practice and educational innovation, mentor and support colleagues, and supervise undergraduate and postgraduate student research projects.

  • Citizenship and Service: Engage in citizenship, service and engagement activities that support the School, Faculty and University, while contributing to a collaborative and inclusive academic community.

About You

  • A doctoral qualification in law that has either been conferred, is under examination, or is in the final stages of completion.

  • Demonstrated experience teaching and supporting student learning within undergraduate and/or postgraduate legal education.

  • A willingness and ability to develop, coordinate and deliver courses that comprise the Priestley 11 prescribed areas of knowledge required for admission to legal practice.

  • Evidence of developing innovative curriculum, learning materials and assessment practices that enhance student outcomes.

  • A strong commitment to teaching excellence, supported by teaching evaluations, peer recognition, awards and/or other indicators of impact.

  • Demonstrated capability to contribute to educational leadership, pedagogical innovation and the broader culture of teaching excellence.

  • Experience supervising or supporting undergraduate and/or postgraduate student research projects.

  • The ability to establish productive relationships with colleagues, industry, government, professional bodies and the wider legal community.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a commitment to inclusive and respectful workplace practices.
