Supply Chain Internship
Our Supply Chain team plays a critical role in supporting our stores, e-commerce business, and continued growth. We are seeking a motivated and curious Supply Chain Intern who is eager to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced retail distribution environment.
The Supply Chain Internship is based on-site at our Distribution Center in Maryville, Tennessee. This program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of how products move through our supply chain—from receipt at the Distribution Center through delivery to our stores and e-commerce guests.
During the first two weeks of the internship, Supply Chain Interns will actively perform key Distribution Center processes alongside our associates and operational leaders. This hands-on experience will include:
Picking e-commerce orders
Packing e-commerce orders
Order processing and problem-solving
Supporting store distribution processes
Learning Distribution Center safety, quality, productivity, and inventory-control standards
Following the initial operational immersion, the intern will rotate through several Supply Chain functions, including:
Inventory Management: Learn how inventory accuracy, cycle counting, allocation, and inventory flow are managed across the business.
Vendor Compliance: Understand vendor requirements, inbound product quality, labeling, packaging, and compliance processes.
Transportation: Gain exposure to inbound and outbound transportation, carrier management, delivery performance, and freight costs.
Data Analytics: Use operational data to identify trends, evaluate performance, and support continuous-improvement opportunities.
What You’ll Do
Develop an end-to-end understanding of retail supply chain and Distribution Center operations.
Work alongside Distribution Center associates and leaders.
Participate in cross-functional Supply Chain rotations and team meetings.
Assist with data collection, reporting, and analysis.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, cost, or service.
Support special projects and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Prepare and present observations, findings, and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship.
Follow all Distribution Center safety policies and operating procedures.
What We’re Looking For
Students currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Willingness to actively participate in physical Distribution Center processes during the first two weeks of the internship.Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong interest in supply chain, retail operations, distribution, logistics, or data analytics.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with associates at all levels of the organization.
Above average proficiency in Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn new systems and analytical tools.
Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to maintain a positive attitude while balancing multiple assignments and priorities.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
This internship is an on-site position based at the Distribution Center in Maryville, Tennessee.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods while participating in Distribution Center operations.
Ability to safely bend, reach, and lift merchandise or packages in accordance with established job requirements.
Availability to work a minimum of 20-25 hours a week, which may include early morning hours depending on operational needs. #LI-DNI
