Production Assistant

WE ARE HIRING – PRODUCTION ASSISTANT

Location: Lekki Phase 1, Lagos

Reports To: Head of Production

We are a luxury fashion brand and we are looking for a Production Assistant. The ideal candidate should be organised, detail-oriented, proactive, and able to effectively coordinate with tailors, beaders, the Client Services team, and other members of the production team to ensure that orders are completed according to the required quality standards and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Head of Production in planning, coordinating, and monitoring daily production activities.

• Source and coordinate the procurement of fabrics and other production materials as required.

• Review design sketches and communicate the details, measurements, finishing requirements, and other specifications clearly to the tailors.

• Assign production tasks to tailors and monitor progress to ensure tasks are completed within the required timelines.

• Assign tasks to beaders and follow up on the progress of beading work.

• Monitor the movement of garments and materials through the different stages of production.

• Work closely with the Client Services team to understand client requirements, priorities, and delivery deadlines.

• Attend to clients during fittings and ensure their feedback and requirements are properly communicated to the relevant production team members.

• Track production deadlines and follow up with the relevant team members to ensure orders are completed on schedule.

• Communicate production updates, delays, challenges, and other relevant information to the Head of Production.

• Identify potential production delays or issues early and escalate them appropriately.

• Conduct regular follow-ups with tailors and beaders to ensure work is progressing according to schedule.

• Assist in ensuring that finished garments meet the required quality and design specifications before they are handed over to the next stage.

• Maintain proper records of production activities, assigned tasks, materials, and work progress.

• Support the Head of Production in coordinating fittings, alterations, and other production-related activities when required.

• Ensure that production materials, fabrics, sketches, and other items are properly accounted for and handled.

• Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth coordination from order confirmation through to completion.

• Carry out other production-related duties as assigned by the Head of Production.

Requirements

Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in fashion production, garment production, or a related role.
Previous experience in fashion design is an added advantage.
Good understanding of garment production processes and fashion terminology.
Ability to read and understand fashion sketches/designs and communicate instructions effectively to tailors.
Strong organisational and coordination skills.
Good attention to detail and ability to monitor multiple production tasks simultaneously.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Proactive approach to identifying and resolving production issues.
Ability to work effectively with tailors, beaders, Client Services, and other team members.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets and other basic productivity tools is an advantage.
