Job Title: Compliance Admin 
Department: Live Compliance 
Reports To: Compliance Manager 
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt 
Location: Annex / Field Support 
Work Arrangement: On-Site / Field 
Shift / Schedule: 1st Shift 
Travel Requirements: Local, travel may be required for grower meetings, audits, farm visits, and inspections

Role Overview / Purpose and Scope 

The Farmer Focus brand of organic meat products has an opportunity for a Compliance Admin. The successful candidate will bring a safety-first, hands-on mindset and serve as a self-motivated partner supporting the Compliance team, grower relationships, certification programs, animal welfare standards, audits, and continuous improvement across the organization. 

This role assists the Compliance Specialist and Compliance Manager with administrative duties, grower onboarding, flock record accuracy, audit preparation, certification support, animal welfare documentation, on-site inspection coordination, corrective action follow-up, and maintenance of grower files and records while helping maintain exceptional relationships with growers and farm partners. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Process grower flock records for accuracy, enter flock records into the database, note record issues, and report concerns to the Compliance Specialist. 
  • Assist with collecting information for corrective actions and support follow-up documentation as needed. 
  • Mail weekly flock records to growers for upcoming flocks. 
  • Print and mail grower settlements upon approval. 
  • Review order confirmations, chick delivery invoices, and chick invoices for accuracy and create new flock files. 
  • Assist with the grower onboarding process and maintain the file system for grower records. 
  • Assist in preparation for audits and inspections, including reporting, pulling files, organizing documentation, and checking records for accuracy. 
  • Support animal welfare audits and inspections by organizing records, preparing reports, documenting observations, and tracking non-conformances and corrective action plans. 
  • Assist with reviewing animal care documentation related to housing, ventilation, lighting, biosecurity, stocking density, feeding, watering, health management, handling, transport, and processing practices. 
  • Maintain accurate audit, inspection, certification, animal welfare, and follow-up records to support compliance with company standards, customer expectations, and applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Collaborate with growers, farm partners, processors, and internal stakeholders to promote animal welfare best practices, support compliance initiatives, and reinforce Farmer Focus standards. 
  • Participate in training, meetings, workshops, and continuous improvement efforts related to animal welfare, compliance, audit readiness, and grower support. 
  • Stay informed of animal welfare standards, poultry industry best practices, certification requirements, and audit protocols to support accurate documentation and compliance readiness. 
  • Support certification programs through accurate recordkeeping, timely documentation, and administrative follow-through. 
  • Assist in organizing grower meetings, events, and related communications. 
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with growers, internal partners, and all levels of the organization. 
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned by management.

Compensation: $23.00 - $25.00 an hour

Qualifications

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent GED certificate required. 
  • Knowledge of standard agricultural practices. 
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in the protein industry, poultry operations, agricultural compliance, or a related field preferred. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of animal welfare standards, poultry regulations, biosecurity practices, and industry best practices preferred. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining attention to detail. 
  • Proactive team building and relationship-building skills, including the ability to work independently and as a team member. 
  • Proficient PC skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, SMART devices, and internal company programs/applications. 
  • Proficiency in using computer software for data entry, data analysis, audit documentation, and report writing. 
  • Proficient math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, common fractions, and decimals. 
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written communications. 
  • Strong auditing, inspection, documentation, and reporting skills with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Proficient skills in reading, writing, and speaking the English language. 
  • Effective problem-solving and resolution skills with the ability to exercise good judgment. 
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to relate effectively and tactfully with growers and all levels of the organization. 
  • Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions. 
  • Genuine commitment to animal welfare, humane animal treatment, and sustainable poultry operations. 
  • Ability to adapt effectively to workplace changes, new job duties, and updated responsibilities. 

Additional Qualifications

  • Positive attitude, good judgment, and excellent time management skills. 
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain accurate files and records. 
  • Customer-service mindset with the ability to build effective working relationships with growers and internal teams. 
  • Champion for safety, quality, compliance, and company standards. 
  • Relevant animal welfare auditing or inspection certification, such as PAACO, preferred. 
  • Training or certification in HACCP principles preferred. 
  • Willingness to participate on the audit team. 

New team members must be able to pass a drug, alcohol, and background screening post-offer and prior to the start of their employment. The Immigration Reform and Control Act requires that verification of employment eligibility be documented for all new employees by the end of their third day of work. 

Physical Demands and Working Conditions 

Work is conducted both on-site at Farmer Focus facilities and in the field at grower farms in Virginia and West Virginia. The role may require travel to conduct audit support, inspections, grower meetings, and related compliance activities. Work may include office, plant, and farm environments with regular use of a telephone/cell phone, computer including keyboard, SMART devices, email, and/or fax for necessary communications. 

  • Requires the essential use of hands, speech, eyesight, and hearing. 
  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, peripheral and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus as needed; must possess color vision. 
  • Must be able to tolerate varying plant and farm conditions, including heat, wet, chill, outdoor temperatures, uneven surfaces, and exposure to live animals. 
  • Hearing and eye-protective equipment may be required in production areas, and hair and beard nets are required where applicable. 
  • Must be able to traverse stairs and walk through production and farm environments as needed. 
  • May need to physically move light equipment or supplies from one place to another. 
  • Must have fine hand and finger dexterity. 
  • Must be willing to participate on the audit team.
