POSITION SUMMARY:
Buyer II to support procurement and material availability for our precision motor manufacturing operations in West Chester, PA. This role supports products serving various end use markets where Quality, Compliance, Delivery performance, and Supply continuity are critical to customer success.
The Buyer II will independently manage assigned suppliers and commodities while partnering with Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Sourcing teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow, optimize inventory, and support business growth. The ideal candidate combines strong purchasing expertise, analytical capability, ERP/MRP proficiency, and supplier management experience with a continuous improvement mindset and a strong sense of urgency.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Along with those identified below, other duties may be assigned.
- Manage procurement activities for assigned direct material suppliers and commodities, including RFQ, purchase order placement, supplier commitments, expedites, reschedules, and supply continuity planning.
- Utilize ERP/MRP planning outputs and data analytics to manage material requirements, identify supply risks, and ensure timely replenishment to support production schedules and customer commitments.
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on delivery performance, quality, responsiveness, capacity planning, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor supplier lead times, promise dates, inventory exposure, and open order status to proactively mitigate shortages and production disruptions.
- Partner with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Planning and Manufacturing on new product introductions, engineering changes, supplier qualification efforts, and corrective actions.
- Analyze procurement, inventory, and supplier performance data using advanced Excel and ERP reporting tools to support operational decision-making and drive performance improvements.
- Support inventory optimization initiatives through effective management of replenishment parameters, lead times, order policies, and supplier performance.
- Lead supplier recovery activities and root-cause investigations related to delivery, quality, and capacity constraints.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives that improve procurement processes, ERP/MRP execution, supplier performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality requirements, customer requirements, and regulatory obligations supporting customers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply chain management, Business, Operations or equivalent degree required; relevant experience preferred.
- Minimum 3-5 years of purchasing, planning, materials management, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ERP/MRP experience with demonstrated understanding of material planning, replenishment processes, supplier lead times, inventory management, and purchase order execution, Kanban, PFEP replenishment systems.
- Microsoft Excel proficiency, including the ability to analyze large datasets, develop analytical models, perform data validation, and support fact-based decision-making.
- Proven experience managing international suppliers and driving improvements in delivery, responsiveness, and supply performance.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, problem-solve, and execute effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence suppliers and collaborate cross-functionally.
