Service Asset & Configuration Manager

RRole description: Owns and drives the end-to-end configuration management lifecycle across technology platforms. This role ensures that all infrastructure, applications, and services have accurate, reliable, and continuously maintained config data.

Role accountabilities:

Individual accountabilities:

CMDB

• Owns and maintain Configuration Management Database, ensuring data accuracy, completeness and integrity

• Work closely with engineering, operations, and platform teams to ensure Configuration Items are properly recorded and updated throughout their lifecycle.

• Support automation and tooling improvements to enhance configuration data quality and usability.

Standards and Process

• Define, implement, and enforce configuration management, standards and procedures.

• Develop and maintain CI models, naming conventions, and data relationships.

Reporting

• Produce regular reporting on configuration health, compliance, and lifecycle status

Audit and reassessment

• Lead configuration audits and reconciliation activities to identify gaps, discrepancies, and risks.

• Ensure sensitive or regulated data within the CMDB remains compliant with security and privacy

Key shared accountabilities:

• Work with Service owners and technical SMEs to validate CI dependencies and map service relationships

• Work with tooling and automation teams to design integrations that keep configuration data up to date

• Support Tech by providing CI insights during incidents and root cause analysis.

Qualifications & Experience:

• ​Strong understanding of IT configuration management (ideally ITIL-certified).

• Hands-on experience with CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, BMC, or equivalent).

• ​Familiar with service dependencies, infrastructure components, and cloud technologies.

• ​Strong analytical skills—able to understand how configuration data impacts operations and risk

• ​Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organization with multiple stakeholders.
