We’re hiring for a hybrid role. You’ll work on-site with your team several days each week (typically 2–3), with the specific days set by your manager. Because regular in-person collaboration is central to this job, we look for candidates who live within about 50 miles of the office.

Job Title: Senior Network Engineer  

Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid, 2-3 days per week)

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team in a hybrid capacity. This individual will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network infrastructure across both datacenter and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in enterprise networking and firewall technologies, and a strong understanding of secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures.  

  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Design, deploy, and manage complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network topologies in hybrid (on-prem and cloud) environments  

• Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot enterprise firewall solutions, with a focus on security and segmentation  

• Collaborate with security, systems, and DevOps teams to support network infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications  

• Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and configuration management across network environments  

• Lead root cause analysis of network-related issues and outages  

• Contribute to documentation, diagrams, and runbooks for operational excellence  

• Support compliance initiatives through secure architecture and audit preparation  

  

Required Qualifications:  

• 7+ years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering  

• Demonstrated expertise in firewall configuration, rule management, and troubleshooting (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/FTD, Fortinet, etc.)  

• Strong experience with datacenter switching, routing, and network segmentation  

• Proven experience with cloud networking in AWS, Azure, or GCP (e.g., VPCs, VPNs, routing tables, security groups)  

• Solid understanding of protocols including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, VLAN, VXLAN, IPsec, and DNS  

• Proficient in using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, or other packet analysis utilities 

  

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Experience with Juniper switches or routers (e.g., EX, QFX, MX series)  

• Familiarity with Aruba ClearPass or similar NAC solutions  

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)  

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, JNCIS/JNCIP, AWS Networking Specialty)  

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:

$113,100.00-149,300.00 USD

The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
