We are in search for a Senior Sales Engineer to proactively assist with the technical aspects of all sales activities for customers within assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Sales Executives in their assigned territories to identify opportunities for iDirect solutions.

• Act in a consultative role to customers and partners designing satellite-based IP networks.

• Ability to create and deliver technical presentations and white papers as needed.

• Perform equipment demonstrations and lab testing of network solutions.

• Assist in the development and generation of formal sales proposals to ensure technical accuracy.

• Act as an interface between the customer or partner and iDirect, Inc. on all technical issues.

• Provide Technical Feedback to iDirect Product Marketing.

• Plan and execute iDirect customer engagements involving product implementation, onsite support, and training as required.

• Perform other Professional Services engagements including system design and integration, network architecture planning/implementation and network performance analysis.

• Support the sales region, with the ability to support other global locations as required.

• Ability to travel.  40% or higher travel is typical.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, or closely related field.

• 7+ years’ experience designing and implementing complex networks.   

• Satellite experience is a definite plus

• Experience with TCP/IP internetworking, static, dynamic and multicast routing, layer-2 switching, VLAN configuration, and designing and troubleshooting IP networks.

• Experience with VoIP, IPSec, VPN, TCP spoofing, and QOS.  The ability to capture and analyze IP packets using tools like Ethereal or tcpdump.

• Knowledge of RF/ Satellite communications with experience in Link Budget calculation, RF design, Teleport design, interacting with Satellite operators, antenna install and commissioning. Should understand link design and use of most optimum error correction, and modulation techniques for achieving desired design specifications.

• The ability to act in a consultative role to ensure customer’s needs are met.

• The ability to coordinate technical features with business values.
