Job Title: Warehouse Operative
Location: Belfast
Work Pattern: Monday to Thursday, 18:00 to 02:30 and Friday, 18:00 to 01:30 (39 hours per week)
Summary of Role
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our warehouse team in Belfast. This role is responsible for accurately picking and assembling customer orders using handheld scanning technology, ensuring products are handled safely and efficiently, and maintaining high standards of quality, compliance, and customer service. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of the warehouse while adhering to Good Distribution Practice (GDP) requirements and company procedures.
Responsibilities
- Accurately pick and assemble orders using handheld scanning equipment.
- Move between workstations as required to support operational needs.
- Resolve picking exceptions and ensure orders are fulfilled correctly.
- Handle products with care and use appropriate packaging to prevent damage.
- Report damaged stock, packaging issues, or discrepancies promptly.
- Escalate pick face errors and stock location issues to supervisors immediately.
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards and follow warehouse procedures.
- Comply with all health and safety requirements and wear PPE at all times.
Skills and Knowledge
- Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy when picking orders.

High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required. Less than 2 years of experience in warehouse support, distribution operations, shipping, receiving, inventory control, material handling, or a related field required. Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or equivalent certification preferred. Knowledge in warehouse operations processes, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping. Knowledge in inventory control principles, stock movement tracking, and material traceability requirements. Knowledge in temperature-controlled handling and cold chain support requirements for sensitive products and materials. Knowledge in packaging materials, reusable shipping assets, and replenishment practices within warehouse operations. Knowledge in shipment documentation, operational recordkeeping, and transaction processing requirements. Knowledge in safe material handling practices and the use of warehouse equipment and tools. Ability to follow established warehouse procedures and standardized work instructions. Ability to maintain accurate records and update operational information in warehouse systems and logs. Ability to identify inventory, packaging, shipment, and material handling exceptions for further action. Ability to support timely and accurate order preparation and material movement activities. Ability to manage multiple routine tasks across warehouse workflows while maintaining accuracy. Ability to work with temperature-sensitive materials in line with defined handling requirements.What Cencora offers
