About the Role:
The Asset & Inventory Manager is responsible for maintaining accurate, visible, and accountable asset records across customer-owned inventory, CRI-owned inventory, demo inventory, resale inventory, rental inventory, and internal company assets.
This role serves as the operational steward of CRI's asset management processes and systems, ensuring assets are accurately tracked, properly documented, readily available for operational use, and maintained throughout their lifecycle. The Asset & Inventory Manager plays a key role in supporting CRI's Demo Program, inventory recovery initiatives, and resale operations through disciplined inventory control, asset governance, and cross-functional collaboration.
The Asset & Inventory Manager works closely with Field Operations, Warehouse Operations, Project Management, Sales, Installation Project Coordinators, and Demo Program stakeholders to support operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and informed business decision-making.
This hybrid role is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a minimum of three days per week required on-site in San Leandro to support operational success.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Asset Management & Inventory Stewardship
- Maintain accurate records and visibility of all assigned assets across CRI systems and facilities.
- Oversee asset tracking, movement, location management, condition documentation, and accountability.
- Establish and maintain asset identification, tagging, and recordkeeping standards.
- Ensure asset information is current, complete, and consistently maintained.
- Conduct regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Monitor asset condition, completeness, and readiness for operational use.
- Coordinate asset transfers, relocations, and disposition activities.
- Maintain chain-of-custody documentation and inventory movement records.
Demo Program Operations
- Serve as the primary operational owner of CRI's Demo Program inventory.
- Maintain demo inventory accuracy, organization, availability, and readiness.
- Coordinate demo asset preparation, staging, recovery, inspection, and return processes.
- Ensure demo assets are properly cataloged, photographed, tagged, and documented.
- Maintain detailed records regarding asset condition, availability, and utilization.
- Partner with the Demo Coordinator, Installation Project Coordinators, Warehouse Specialists, and Field Operations team members to support program execution.
- Support continuous improvement of demo inventory processes and asset controls.
Resale Inventory Coordination
- Maintain accurate visibility into available resale inventory.
- Serve as the primary internal resource for Sales and Project Management teams seeking available inventory for project opportunities.
- Coordinate inventory identification, availability verification, and asset sourcing activities.
- Ensure resale inventory records are current, organized, and accessible.
- Support resale operations through accurate inventory tracking, documentation, and readiness management.
- Partner with business stakeholders regarding inventory availability, condition, and logistics.
Systems & Data Management
- Serve as the primary owner of inventory and asset data within SnapTracker.
- Establish and maintain data governance standards for asset management activities.
- Run inventory reports, audits, reconciliations, and data validation processes.
- Identify data integrity issues and implement corrective actions.
- Support training and adoption of asset tracking procedures and standards.
- Maintain working knowledge of AXWrap, IQ Coordinator, and related operational systems.
- Recommend process improvements that enhance inventory visibility, accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
Asset Documentation & Catalog Management
- Maintain asset photographs, product images, specifications, condition records, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure inventory records include complete and accurate product details.
- Develop and maintain product catalog information for demo and resale inventory.
- Partner with marketing and operational stakeholders to ensure asset information remains current and usable.
- Create and maintain inventory reference materials, standards, and documentation.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Partner closely with Project Management, Sales, Warehouse Operations, and Field Operations teams.
- Support asset-related planning and inventory availability discussions.
- Provide guidance regarding inventory processes, asset standards, and tracking procedures.
- Assist with operational problem-solving involving inventory, asset accountability, and asset movement.
- Support special projects, inventory initiatives, and operational improvement efforts.
Requirements
Experience/Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in asset management, inventory management, warehouse operations, logistics, project operations, furniture operations, or related fields.
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel.
- Experience maintaining inventory systems and databases.
- Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple departments.
- Knowledge of inventory control, warehouse operations, logistics, or asset management practices.
- Experience with inventory tracking software and asset management systems.
- Experience with SnapTracker, AXWrap, IQ Coordinator, or similar systems is preferred.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to inspect, move, tag, photograph, catalog, and prepare inventory and assets.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 50 lbs independently.
- Ability to safely lift heavier items with assistance, equipment, or warehouse support personnel.
- Comfortable working in both office and warehouse environments.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform inventory audits as required.
- Ability to travel between company facilities and project locations as needed.
