Job Description:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine, preventive maintenance, and general repairs. Make adjustments to building systems, equipment and fixtures under the guidance of the Lead/Chief engineer. This role serves a downtown Des Moines, IA class B office tower ensuring satisfaction for both tenants and the building owner. Participation in an on-call rotation is a requirement of this position. Some things you can expect to do:
- This is a first shift position, with standard hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with occasional after hours and weekend work.
- Replace lamps and/or ballasts as required in a timely manner.
- Perform plumbing repairs, door hardware maintenance and repair.
- Preform painting duties as required.
- Maintain and repair irrigation systems.
- Remove debris on a daily basis; perform seasonal outside duties as required.
- Maintain mechanical rooms, utility rooms and vacant areas in a neat and clean condition.
- Complete work orders as assigned on a daily/weekly basis.
- Participate in on-call, after-hours and weekend rotation.
Candidate Requirements:
- High School Degree or equivalent.
- Minimum two years experience in maintenance or related field.
- Basic computer skills required.
- Positive, helpful attitude at all times when interacting with building occupants.
- Working knowledge of building systems preferred.
- In pursuit of certification/licensing relative to performing work required in building operations.
You will really stand out if you have:
- Have a boiler operator license
- Have a knowledge of HVAC systems and ability to make needed adjustments and general repairs.
- Microsoft 365 Software experience.
Compensation:
The base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
