WHAT YOU WILL DO:

The primary purpose of this position is to provide support to the Contributions and Recovery division by processing various documents promptly and accurately into employer accounts within program systems. The Office Specialist 2 provides customer service to Contributions and Recovery partners through phone support and electronic communication. They reconcile statements and post payments, process mail, and support daily functions of Contributions Support Services.

We offer bilingual differential pay, which is an extra 5% of the employee’s base pay upon passing test(s) evaluating your proficiency in Spanish. Please note, bilingual language skills are not required for this position, only preferred.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of general clerical experience that includes keyboarding, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR

  • An associate degree in any field; OR

  • An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Desired Attributes

  • Proven ability to work in a diverse work environment

  • Experience taking phone calls and providing information to customers and/or forwarding their calls to colleagues who can provide customer service

  • Experience navigating computer software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) to prepare and review correspondence and reports

  • Experience processing a high volume of incoming and outgoing mail, and recording the receipt and completion dates as appropriate, in a deadline driven environment

  • Experience electronically entering data, retrieving information, generating data/data reports and using a document management system

  • Ability to be comfortable with changing or uncertain environments. Ability to remain professional, calm and adapt communication style with diverse customer needs or customers that are frustrated, upset or critical

  • Demonstrated responsibility for your own actions and a commitment to performing assigned tasks. Ability to comply with requirements regarding sensitive and confidential data

  • Demonstrated experience with 10-key typing

  • Professional written communication skills

  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred, but not required

  • The salary listed is the non-PERS qualifying salary range. If the successful candidate is PERS‑qualifying, the salary range will reflect the additional 6.95%. Please review the Classification and Compensation page for more details.

WORK LOCATION INFORMATION:

This position will report to the Salem Central Office and is not suitable for remote or hybrid remote work.
