The Role

At Bega Group, we’re passionate about delivering high-quality products and creating a safe, supportive environment for our people. We’re looking for a Quality Specialist – Lab & Sanitation to join our team and play a key role in maintaining strong laboratory standards, food safety, and compliance across the site.

Our Chelsea Heights site is in Melbourne’s south-east, manufacturing a range of more than 44 milk, milk-based beverages and cream products. The site currently produces around 100 million litres of product every year!

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain laboratory quality systems and ensure compliance with site, group, and customer standards  

• Coordinate laboratory operations, including equipment servicing, calibration, and consumables management

• Work closely with teams to monitor food safety, hygiene, and environmental programs across the site

• Assist with audits, testing, and investigations, helping to identify root causes and support continuous improvement

• Contribute to reporting and insights, sharing trends and supporting quality and environmental performance review

About you

• Experience in food safety, quality, or laboratory environments within Dairy/ FMCG manufacturing

• Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills

• Curious and detail-oriented, with a practical problem-solving mindset

• Familiar with compliance standards (HACCP, GMP, GLP, BRC)

• Self-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
