The opportunity

As the State Manager, Workplace and Employee Banking – NSW/ACT, you'll lead and inspire a high-performing team of Business Development Managers and Senior Business Development Managers, helping customers, colleagues and corporate partners achieve better outcomes through the Workplace and Employee Banking Program.

Working closely with the Leadership Team, you'll create an environment where your team can thrive, role modelling exceptional leadership, fostering trusted partnerships and driving sustainable business growth. You'll bring strong lending expertise, commercial acumen and a passion for developing people to deliver outstanding customer experiences and quality lending opportunities.

As part of Customer Service Lending (CSL), you'll help deliver seamless banking experiences for our customers. Guided by CommBank's purpose of building a brighter future for all, the Workplace and Employee Banking Program delivers specialist financial solutions to people, businesses and communities across Australia.

Your impact

  • Lead a high-performing team of Business Development Managers and Senior Business Development Managers, fostering an inclusive, accountable and customer-focused culture.

  • Coach and develop your team to build capability, drive performance and support long-term career growth.

  • Grow the Workplace and Employee Banking portfolio by building and strengthening strategic corporate partnerships that deliver sustainable business outcomes.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Home Lending, Customer Service Lending, Institutional Banking, Corporate Banking, Business Banking, Retail Banking Services and the Branch Network to deliver seamless customer experiences.

  • Drive strategic priorities and identify opportunities to improve business performance, customer outcomes and operational excellence.

  • Champion strong risk management by embedding sound governance, compliance and accountability across your team.

  • Role model CommBank's values of Care, Courage and Commitment, leading with integrity and putting customers at the centre of every decision.

What you'll bring

We're looking for a leader who is passionate about developing people, building relationships and delivering outstanding business and customer outcomes.

You'll bring:

  • Demonstrated leadership, coaching and people management experience, ideally within a sales, business development or lending environment.

  • Proven success in delivering strong business, sales and customer outcomes through high-performing teams.

  • Extensive knowledge of lending products, systems and processes.

  • Experience building and managing strategic relationships with corporate partners and senior stakeholders.

  • Strong business development capability with a proven ability to identify and deliver growth opportunities.

  • Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

  • Sound commercial judgement, balancing customer outcomes, business performance and risk.

  • Strong technology skills and confidence navigating Bank systems.

  • Relevant financial services experience or tertiary qualifications in business, finance, economics or marketing.
