The role designed for you
The IT Integration & Data Specialist will join the recently established IT function and will report to the IT Manager & Solution Architect, who is a first report to BU IT Director.
The main goal of the role is to support the transition from local to global, BU-wide systems, processes, and mindset. The key priorities are:
- Design data solutions to enable a successful integration of all the different legal entities.
- Simplify both the architecture solutions and the definition of standard group policies.
- Partner across the organization — within the IT department and with the business functions — to support key transformation initiatives and facilitate data-driven decisions.
Your responsibilities
You will play an active role in the newly extended IT landscape across the following main pillars (but not limited to):
- Integration Solutions
- Be involved in activities on the Integration Layer, acting as a bridge among internal IT teams, business analysts, and external resources.
- Adopt best-in-class solutions to connect systems and to facilitate and standardize systems integration.
- Engage business functions across the BU legal entities, working closely with key users to collect requirements and define priorities - from design to release.
- Integrate processes and applications across the landscape.
- Support daily activities, promptly addressing issues and involving external consultants when needed.
- EDI Evolution
- Support the EDI onboarding and evolution strategy, contributing to the expansion and standardization of EDI capabilities across the Business Unit.
- Support Customer EDI initiatives, acting as a liaison between internal IT teams, business functions, external resources, and customers’ IT contacts, from requirements definition through onboarding and go-live.
- Contribute to the evolution of EDI beyond customers, assessing and supporting potential connections with other external business partners, such as carriers, logistics providers, suppliers, and other third parties.
- Promote standardized and scalable EDI solutions, reducing point-to-point complexity and supporting the adoption of common integration patterns and standards across legal entities.
- Across both pillars, you will also:
- Guarantee solutions that are suited to and aligned with the standard guidelines.
- Recommend technological choices and identify the best solutions with respect to market standards — from design through delivery and roll-out across countries.
- Identify issues, design and propose solutions to be implemented.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with business users to gain an expert-level understanding of the business context.
Who are we looking for
- BSc / MSc in Computer Science, IT Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
- 1–3 years of experience gained in a consultancy firm and/or within the IT teams of a structured multinational manufacturing company; comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid knowledge of current technological trends, as well as of database design and management, data modelling, and data-quality management.
- Strong analytical mindset, sharp on detail, combined with a flexible and open-minded approach.
- Able to operate effectively within a matrix organization, reaching goals with a hands-on approach, on time and on budget.
- Strong ability to collaborate with different company functions, with effective communication skills.
- Fluent in Italian and English.
Nice to have (preferred):
- Exposure to or initial hands-on experience with enterprise integration/iPaaS platforms (e.g., Boomi or equivalent)
- Working knowledge of SQL, data modelling, APIs and basic integration patterns.
- Exposure to enterprise ERP landscapes (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics 365), and integrations with other applications.
- Familiarity with EDI concepts and standards, customer/supplier onboarding, message mapping and common EDI business documents.
- Basic understanding of system integration and standardization of interfaces and processes across different legal entities and systems.
