Description
This role is for a senior network specialist who wants more than escalation support. The challenge is to shape a future-ready enterprise network: designing resilient solutions, leading advanced troubleshooting, strengthening segmentation and compliance, and driving modernisation through SD-WAN, automation, SDN and hybrid-cloud connectivity. You will operate as the technical authority between engineering teams, architecture forums, cybersecurity, vendors and operational stakeholders.
Profile for Success
- Evidence of designing or leading enterprise-scale WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN, firewall or hybrid-cloud networking solutions.
- Strong production experience with advanced routing and switching, including BGP, OSPF and MPLS.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex incident escalation, root-cause analysis and systemic remediation.
- Proven involvement in SD-WAN, segmentation, modernisation, automation or SDN initiatives.
- Ability to influence architecture, cybersecurity, risk/compliance, vendor and senior IT stakeholders.
- Minimum requirements: NQF Level 7 qualification in IT, Computer Science or Network Engineering; CCNP, JNCIP or equivalent; ITIL Foundation; valid driver’s licence; 7–9 years enterprise network engineering with 3+ years senior/advanced responsibility.
- Advantageous: CCIE, Fortinet NSE 8, AWS Advanced Networking, Azure Network Engineer Expert, CISSP/CCSP or similar.
