Description
This role is about keeping a complex enterprise network stable while helping improve it. You will take ownership of escalated network issues, implement secure network changes, support rollout and upgrade projects, and help turn recurring operational problems into documented, repeatable fixes. For a strong intermediate engineer, the appeal is the combination of real hands-on configuration, exposure to enterprise-scale environments, and the chance to build toward senior network engineering capability.
Profile for Success
- Demonstrated experience independently configuring enterprise routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers or wireless controllers.
- Evidence of resolving escalated network incidents through structured troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
- Proven exposure to WAN, LAN, WLAN, VPN and firewall implementations in a production environment.
- Experience supporting hybrid/cloud network integration or connectivity between enterprise sites and cloud platforms.
- A disciplined approach to change management, documentation, testing and rollback planning.
- Minimum requirements: NQF Level 7 qualification in IT, Computer Science or Network Engineering; Cisco CCNA; valid driver’s licence; 3–5 years enterprise networking experience.
- Advantageous: CCNP, Juniper JNCIS, ITIL Foundation, SD-WAN or network automation/SDN exposure.
