$37.50/hour plus $2,000 hiring bonus upon completion of contractual requirements and actively working post.

Allied Universal is actively recruiting currently sworn Police Officers to join our North Carolina Company Police program supporting acute care hospital operations.

This role operates under North Carolina Company Police authority (N.C.G.S. Chapter 74E) and serves as the designated law enforcement presence supporting Emergency Department operations and workplace violence prevention in accordance with N.C.G.S. §131E-88, which requires hospitals with Emergency Departments to maintain a continuous on-site presence of at least one law enforcement officer to ensure immediate response capability and staff safety.

Allied Universal provides comprehensive healthcare-specific training, including de-escalation, behavioral health response, patient rights, and Emergency Department operations, ensuring officers are fully prepared to operate in a hospital environment.

 

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years of age

• Must be a currently sworn law enforcement officer

  High School Diploma or GED required

• North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) certification required
• Must be eligible for or able to obtain Company Police commission under N.C.G.S. Chapter 74E
• Valid Police Identification and firearm certification required
• Must meet all state and local licensing and regulatory requirements prior to assignment
• Ability to maintain required proficiency in firearms and approved equipment

Preferred but not required:

• Prior healthcare, hospital, or campus policing experience
• Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) or behavioral health experience
• Experience in de-escalation-focused environments

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor healthcare environments
• Stand or walk for extended periods
• Climb stairs or ramps as needed

• Lift or carry up to 75 pounds occasionally

• Responsibilities
• Perform sworn law enforcement duties within a hospital environment in accordance with N.C.G.S. Chapter 74E (Company Police authority)
• Maintain continuous on-site law enforcement presence in the Emergency Department or on hospital campus in accordance with N.C.G.S. §131E-88 to support workplace violence prevention and immediate response capability
• Enforce applicable laws on property owned or controlled by the employer, consistent with Company Police jurisdiction
• Respond to criminal activity, workplace violence incidents, behavioral health crises, and safety threats using de-escalation and healthcare-appropriate use of force
• Conduct investigations, preserve evidence, and coordinate with local law enforcement agencies when required
• Support patient, staff, and visitor safety while respecting patient rights, privacy, and clinical operations
• Apply law enforcement authority within the limits of Company Police jurisdiction and assigned program scope
• Document incidents thoroughly, including use of force, arrests, and significant events, in accordance with policy and reporting requirements
• Assist with emergency response procedures, including evacuations, lockdowns, and critical incidents
• Provide escorts and support controlled access measures as directed
• Attend required training and maintain all certifications, including healthcare-specific training and equipment proficiency
