Senior Lean Consultant

 

 

Role Purpose:


The Senior Lean Consultant will translate the Lean strategy into a clear roadmap and lead high-impact improvement initiatives that deliver measurable gains in productivity, quality, capacity, lead time, and cost... when the plant needs to improve operational performance and embed a culture of continuous improvement.


When teams need the capability, structure, or support to sustain these improvements, role will coach Plant Management and project teams, facilitate Lean workshops, and drive the adoption of Lean methods and behaviors, while connecting with global teams to share best practices and accelerate Manufacturing Excellence across the organization.


Main Responsibilities:


  • Translate Lean strategy into action by developing and monitoring the plant Lean roadmap, aligning improvement priorities with business objectives, operational KPIs, and strategic targets;
  • Lead high-impact Lean and breakthrough projects from business case and project definition through implementation and sustainment, managing scope, timelines, resources, risks, and expected business results;
  • Identify and quantify improvement opportunities by developing data-driven business cases and evaluating potential gains in ROI, capacity, productivity, lead time, quality, and resource utilization to support Plant Management decision-making;
  • Build Lean capabilities across the organization by coaching project teams, conducting Lean training, and facilitating shopfloor workshops using methods such as VSM/VSD, SMED, SFM, OEE, Kanban, Heijunka, and other Lean tools;
  • Drive sustainable performance improvement by monitoring KPI results after implementation, establishing effective management routines, and coaching shopfloor leaders to take ownership of Lean practices and continuous improvement;
  • Act as a strategic improvement partner to Plant Management and Department Heads, providing constructive challenge, structured problem solving, and practical recommendations to address performance gaps and maintain alignment with the Lean strategy;
  • Strengthen the Manufacturing Excellence network by collaborating with regional/global teams, piloting new Lean approaches, sharing local best practices, supporting change management, and evaluating opportunities for broader standardization;

Role Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Diploma Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline, with 7+ years of professional experience and at least 5 years of hands-on Lean experience in a manufacturing environment;
  • Good command of Business English communication in both verbal and written skills;
  • Extensive practical knowledge of Lean principles, methods, and tools, with hands-on experience implementing concepts such as VSM/VSD, Kanban, supermarkets, SMED, Heijunka, assembly line optimization, milk runs, OEE, and shopfloor management;
  • Proven experience managing improvement projects of different sizes, including project planning, risk management, stakeholder coordination, business case development, and sustainable implementation. Practical experience in change management is essential;
  • Strong ability to facilitate workshops, deliver Lean training, coach teams, and communicate complex topics in a clear and engaging way. Confident working independently as well as collaboratively across functions and multicultural teams;
  • Strong analytical, logical, and holistic thinking with the ability to connect detailed operational issues to the overall business picture, prioritize effectively in complex situations, and translate improvement opportunities into measurable business impact. Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems and willingness to travel are required;
