Description
Manages and coordinates the activities of Education, Training and Development for either the Motor Club or Insurance Operation of ACE. Guides and oversees the process of developing, implementing and evaluating training plans and program materials in response to business unit needs. Monitors training programs, assesses results, and implements enhancements as needed. Conducts training needs assessments and determines requirements for new program development. May act in capacity of Group Manager, ET&D in his/her absence.
Job Duties
- Manages a staff of Supervisors, Training Specialists, and/or Instructional Designers both locally and remotely across multiple markets. Creates and manages schedules; ensures time records on Kronos are accurate and complete. Responsible for ensuring employee performance; prepares and delivers performance evaluations and performance improvement plans if necessary. Prepares base and variable pay files for instructor teams. Recruits, interviews, screens, and hires replacements or additions to staff. Coaches and develops employees. Conducts classroom evaluations and observations. Sets goals for team and participates in department goal setting to achieve business and enterprise priorities. Ensures long range and day to day activities of employees are aligned to achieve team goals. Acts as a mentor and coach to department supervisors. Engages in succession planning for team and the department at large. Plans and organizes his/her team’s work to meet the goals of Motor Club and/or Insurance business units.
- Develops and initiates training plans for either the Motor Club or Insurance Operation of ACE and oversees the scheduling, and execution of training programs. Develops criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of training activities; establishes and maintains training metrics to evaluate effectiveness of learning outcomes and to implement enhancements as needed.. Creates and implements training strategy. Makes decisions regarding changes to curriculum and/or syllabi for functional areas of responsibility.
- Builds and maintains partnerships with ACE executives and senior leadership in assigned business units to assess organizational needs and implement training and development programs and processes to help achieve strategic objectives. Interacts with internal and external business partners and vendors.
- Responsible for quality of facilitation, course development and delivery. Stays abreast of best-in-class curriculum related to the activities of the Motor Club and/or Insurance Operation and incorporates new techniques into training programs as applicable.
- Plans, executes and monitors budgeting goals and objectives to ensure the department stays within approved expense budget.
- Regularly makes decisions involving the direction of major projects. Implements plans that affect the strategic direction of assigned projects. Leads in the development and implementation of new training needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4-6 years Administering learning and development programs in a multi-state environment, with learners in numerous geographies and time zones Required
- 1-3 years Supervisory/management Preferred
- Excellent one-on-one and group presentation and facilitation skills.
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills and relationship building.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and different learning styles.
- Ability to persuade and direct groups of people to influence outcomes.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, InfoPath).
- Senior Professional Human Resources - Human Resource Certification Institute Preferred
