Salary: $75,297

Position Overview 

The Training Manager provides operational and programmatic leadership of training, technical assistance and capacity building programming including staff supervision, program planning, training, providing technical assistance and coordinating relationships with community and system partners to provide grant funding and fee for service capacity building services.

Responsibilities:
Perform the following from a racial, gender, sexuality, and ability equity lens:

• Serve as expert and provide technical assistance around all things that are tied to program and grant administration including but not limited to: finance, vouchering, logic models, hiring practices, etc. related to government grants. 
• Recruit, hire, supervise, train, support, including monitoring and evaluation, team as assigned, along with appropriate in-service training based on their assessed need.
• Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to strategize development and achieve training department’s goals for training and capacity-building services of grant funded work
• Manage and oversee day to day operations
• Oversee training cohorts including recruitment of participating organizations, coordinating cohort training and being a back up facilitator. Oversee Alternatives relationship management with organizations and entities.
• Ensure training of staff to provide external trainings and capacity-building
• Ensure accurate data and performance metric tracking
• Oversee training, curriculum development, implementation and evaluation. Including staying up to date on current research, trends and best practices related to topics including but not limited to: Restorative Justice, Trauma Informed Care, Racial Equity, Nonprofit Administration, Organizational Leadership, finance, vouchering, logic models, hiring practices, etc.
• Oversee Alternatives technical assistance services. Serve as primary point person for Technical Assistance, providing in person and virtual services.
• Oversee organizational capacity building efforts including creating and administering needs assessments, analyzing assessments, creating professional development plans and ensuring completion of plans.
• Oversee Grant reporting, collaborating with Alternatives’ data team to ensure compliance and accurate reportings as required by grants Monitor grant spending collaborating with finance team to ensure spend down of contracts.
• Support fee for service efforts by responding to inquiries for trainings and supporting logistics.
• Travel locally, statewide or nationally to provide training or technical assistance as assigned.
• Represent Alternatives at relevant forums and events as assigned.
• Support grant writing and fundraising efforts as assigned.
• Complete in a timely fashion these and all other tasks, including individual annual goals, and other duties as assigned by the Chief of Staff. 
• Actively participate in all applicable staff and team meetings, professional development training and supervision meetings.
• Serve as a member of the leadership team

Requirements

1. Minimum of BA / BS degree or equivalent experience
2. Two years supervisory experience, preferably in a community-based organization.
3. Demonstrated success evaluating services and successfully operationalizing innovative programs 
4. Ability to efficiently and strategically build organizational capacity within the constraints of limited resources
5. Proficient in using technology as management reporting tool 
6. Strong project management skills working with multifaceted and complex programs 
7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
8. Experience in team management, empowering them to elevate their levels of responsibility and professional development 
9. Meticulous attention to detail and meeting deadlines
10. Consistently learning and working within the following frameworks: Anti-oppression, Positive Youth Development, Trauma-informed and Balanced and Restorative Justice. 
11. Skilled at working with young people at high risk for juvenile justice and child welfare system involvement 
12. Experience in public speaking and/or training with both youth and adult audiences
13. Willingness and ability to travel locally, statewide or nationally.
14. Demonstrated administrative skills, including proficiency in MS Office software.
15. Interest in and commitment to working with schools and community based organizations
16. Must successfully complete the Alternatives Internal Leadership Pipeline Program within two attempts as a condition of continued employment. Failure to meet this requirement may result in termination.
