Job Description:
The Construction Supervisor – Mechanical & VT is responsible for supervising and monitoring mechanical and vertical transportation works on high-rise building construction projects. The role ensures that all site activities related to mechanical systems and VT installations are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and applicable codes and regulations. The role is focused on construction supervision within the Parsons scope of work.
What You'll Be Doing:
Supervise day-to-day site activities related to mechanical and vertical transportation works, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project procedures.
Monitor installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and associated building services, as well as VT systems such as elevators, escalators, and moving walks, where applicable.
Review contractor works on site and ensure that activities are performed in accordance with approved method statements, inspection requests, and quality standards.
Coordinate with engineers, inspectors, contractors, subcontractors, and other disciplines to ensure proper sequencing and integration of works.
Inspect site progress and workmanship, identify defects or non-conformances, and follow up on corrective actions.
Ensure construction activities are aligned with the approved project schedule and report delays, constraints, or technical concerns to the Resident Engineer or Construction Manager.
Witness installation, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for mechanical and VT systems.
Maintain daily site records, progress updates, inspection reports, and supervision logs.
Monitor contractor compliance with project health, safety, and environmental requirements.
Support in resolving site issues and escalating technical matters to the relevant engineers when required.
Participate in coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, and progress review sessions as needed.
Ensure all works comply with local authority requirements, project specifications, and SAPL supervision procedures.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Technical certifications relevant to mechanical or vertical transportation systems are an advantage.
Minimum 8+ years of related experience in high-rise building construction projects.
Strong site supervision experience in mechanical works and vertical transportation systems.
Previous experience in contractor, consultant, or PMC supervision roles is preferred.
Good understanding of installation, testing, and commissioning processes for mechanical and VT systems.
Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC projects is an advantage.
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Knowledge of mechanical building systems including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and associated services.
Familiarity with vertical transportation systems including lifts, escalators, and related components.
Understanding of site supervision practices, construction quality standards, testing and commissioning procedures, and HSE requirements.
Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
