Why is the role important to us
SimCorp APAC is seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer at Director level to take functional ownership of deals across the region, including strategic pursuits. This is a commercial, deal-shaping role where the candidate will own the functional sales workstream end-to-end for a number of opportunities throughout the year, partner on executive-level customer engagements, and shape deals toward where SimCorp is growing: front-to-back, in key markets, across public and private assets, managed services, and AI.
You will bring deep domain expertise in buy-side investment management through SimCorp's multi-asset platform, and use it commercially: framing technical answers in business terms, and setting the standard within a high-accountability team. The role also requires to mentor junior members of the team, orchestrating SMEs deliberately, and building reusable assets that scale across the team. Your contribution will directly shape deal outcomes and customer trust across APAC.
What you will be responsible for
In this role, you own the functional sales workstream end-to-end. You drive deals through its functional stage-gates, can engage customers at executive level, support shaping the deal commercially, and raise the bar around you. As a director, ownership, orchestration, judgment, and the standard you set come on top of the technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with sales to lead enterprise deals, end-to-end, as the functional owner, incl. strategic deals.
- Deliver impactful product & functional RfPs, RfIs, presentations to prospects, while building reusable assets that scale across the team: demo environments, standard pitches tailored to segments and personas, industry and competitor materials.
- Anchor deals in the customer's outcomes, demonstrating tangible value, while shaping the opportunity toward SimCorp's growth priorities: open ecosystem, front-to-back across public and private, and managed services.
- Delegate and orchestrate: Pull SMEs in deliberately and early (operations, accounting, technical teams).
- Proactively drive each deal through its stages
- Frame technical answers in commercial terms by providing answers in both technical and industry context.
- Document risk and gaps, demo/PoC planning, proposal input, and clean handoff. Coordinate closely with internal teams (Product, Consulting, Services, SMEs) to align solution design with client needs.
- Be able to build and carry customer relationships at executive level, e.g. Head of Investments, COO, CTO.
- Mentor junior team members, raise the bar around you, and set and reinforce team standards.
- Stay up to date on market developments and link them to platform workflows.
- Light to moderate travel as required based on sales activity.
What we value

Key Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in FinTech (implementations, transformations, presales, or relationship management with technical/commercial exposure), with exposure to portfolio management & risk mgmt. activities.
- A track record of shaping and winning enterprise deals in financial software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Strong understanding of financial markets and investment processes
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify complex concepts.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and pivot quickly.
- Technical fluency across multi-asset platforms (securities, derivatives, loans, public and private assets), APIs, and data workflows
- Experience working in APAC: South East Asia and Australia are a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; ability to simplify complex concepts and tailor the message to the audience.
- Comfort operating in a high-accountability deal team where ownership and autonomy are expected.
