• Build and maintain professional relationships with site staff, students, and facility leadership (Warden, Deputy Wardens, custody staff).
• Facilitate staff meetings, coaching sessions, team development activities, and participate in department head meetings.
• Enforce Ivy Tech and IDOC policies consistently and fairly.

2. Staff Supervision & Development

• Ensure new employees are effectively onboarded and connected to statewide orientation and training.
• Clarify expectations and communicate program goals with instructional and support teams.
• Manage personnel processes: time off, performance evaluations, goal setting, professional development plans, disciplinary actions, interviews, and terminations.
• Address performance concerns proactively, escalating to regional/state leadership and/or HR when necessary.
• Troubleshoot instructional and personnel challenges in a timely manner.

3. Program & Instructional Oversight
• Ensure performance targets are met, including enrollments, completions, MSGs (Table 4/4B), HSE, Literacy, and CTE metrics.
• Monitor instructional delivery, classroom scheduling, teacher coverage, and student engagement.
• Support best practices in teaching and learning, including appropriate accommodations for students with disabilities.
• Oversee CTE program compliance: credential requirements, lab safety, tool control, equipment maintenance.
• Ensure GED/TABE testing procedures are followed and documented.
• Ensure compliance with Special Education reporting, testing, and case conference processes.

4. Data & Reporting
• Ensure accurate tracking of student enrollments, attendance, completions, MSGs, and other performance measures.
• Submit required statewide deliverables on time, including quarterly reports, CQI forms, and weekly/site-specific reports.
• Partner with data specialists to maintain up-to-date and accurate data in InTERS/Banner.
• Identify gaps in performance and collaborate with staff to develop corrective action plans.
• Oversee data accuracy in Delta, including completion paperwork.
• Provide required documentation and compliance support for ACA audits.
• Monitor testing outcomes to ensure instructional focus and intervention.

5. Safety & Security
• Partner with custody staff to ensure secure and safe environments across all education spaces.
• Enforce safety policies: locked doors, line-movement procedures, tool control, and other security expectations.
• Identify, monitor, and report safety risks to facility leadership and state team.
• Participate in required IDOC safety/security training.
• Reinforce best practices for staff safety and professional boundaries.
• Monitor appropriate staff–student relationship expectations.

6. Operational & Administrative Management
• Manage daily scheduling of classes, teacher prep, staff breaks, and facility access.
• Ensure educational spaces are adequately maintained and stocked (technology, supplies, instructional materials).
• Submit and track facility work orders, IT tickets, and maintenance needs.
• Monitor site budgets and oversee fixed-asset tracking.
• Coordinate student accommodations and maintain documentation.

7. Communication & Collaboration
• Serve as the primary liaison between site teams, Ivy Tech Correctional Education leadership, IDOC facility leadership, and other stakeholders (e.g., TLM partners).
• Communicate statewide updates, expectations, policy changes, and performance expectations to site staff.
• Participate in statewide and regional meetings, professional development, and collaborative initiatives.
• Represent Ivy Tech and its mission professionally at all times.
• Coordinate special activities and events with facility partners as needed.
