Position Overview
The Automation Engineering Intern will support automation and engineering activities under the guidance of an Automation Engineer. This role provides hands-on experience with industrial automation, digitalization, and process improvement projects in a manufacturing environment. The intern will contribute to equipment performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing technical skills.
Primary Responsibilities
Support PLC, HMI, and SCADA programming and troubleshooting.
Assist with automation system modifications and testing.
Contribute to data acquisition and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation and drawings.
Support continuous improvement and process optimization projects.
Assist with equipment commissioning, validation, and startup activities.
Participate in energy efficiency and maintenance optimization initiatives.
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, and Engineering teams to improve reliability and safety.
Minimum Requirements
Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or technical qualification in Automation Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
Exposure to industrial automation or manufacturing processes through coursework, projects, or internships.
Basic project coordination and organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to analyze technical data.
Good written and spoken English skills.
Preferred Requirements
Knowledge of Siemens PLCs, TIA Portal, or SCADA systems.
Familiarity with AutoCAD or electrical drawings.
Understanding of CMMS, process optimization, or Industry 4.0 concepts.
Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
