Maintenance Technician
A day in the life
As a Maintenance Technician, you will support a Customer Experience Team that maintains industrial properties and delivers reliable service to a diverse customer base. You will coordinate repairs, inspect properties, monitor vendor work, and address maintenance and safety concerns across multiple locations. You will work closely with customers, vendors, and Real Estate and Customer Experience Managers to protect property condition and resolve issues promptly. The role also helps the team identify practical ways to support customers through Prologis products and services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate general property maintenance, including repairs, inspections, and corrective actions, with customers, vendors, and Real Estate and Customer Experience Managers.
- Conduct property inspections covering grounds, curb appeal, cleanliness, landscaping, safety requirements, and overall condition; document issues and support timely corrective action.
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues, evaluate service needs, and recommend practical solutions.
- Coordinate walkthroughs, move-ins, move-outs, annual inspections, and repair access with customers and vendors.
- Monitor and document vendor work, and escalate unusual occurrences, damage, or incomplete work to the Real Estate and Customer Experience Manager.
- Maintain the safe storage and working condition of Prologis-issued supplies, chemicals, tools, and equipment; report safety concerns immediately and complete required safety training.
- Partner with the Customer Experience Team to identify opportunities to serve customers through Prologis value-added products and services, including Prologis Essentials where relevant.
Building blocks for success
Required:
- 3+ years of skilled maintenance experience.
- Experience in two or more of the following areas: carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, landscaping, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, fire and life safety systems, or dock equipment.
- Experience using work order, fire and life safety, alarm, facility management, or building control systems.
- Ability to use desktop and mobile applications to document inspections, complete work orders, and communicate with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently in the field while managing multiple priorities across several properties.
- Ability to deliver effective customer service and communicate with customers, peers, managers, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, travel between properties, and perform physical requirements including walking, driving, twisting, bending, frequently lifting up to 50 lbs., and climbing fixed and extension ladders.
- Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company vehicle-use requirements.
- Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergency situations, as needed.
Preferred:
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
- Maintenance experience in commercial real estate.
- Demonstrates willingness and capability to leverage emerging technology, automation, and AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and speed. Exercises sound judgment, creative thinking, and accountability for outcomes.
Hiring Salary Range of: $35.00 - $43.75 per hour ($72,800 - $91,000 annual). Salary and whole compensation package (bonus target) to be determined by the candidate’s location, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
