Job Description:
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
- Manages the docket by scheduling cases, sending notices to all parties involved, completing daily court list for judge, communicating changes with clerks, pulling case files and sending warrants for those defendants who do not show.
- Monitors motions filed by setting up and psychological evaluations, shock probation, track boot camp inmates, set up all motions that require hearings and notify all parties, and issue bench warrants for defendants to return to Bell County Jail from other institutions for court hearings.
- Prepares monthly and yearly reports if court activity by collecting data on disposed of criminal cases and distributes reports to all district judges and district attorney’s office.
- Assesses needs of the office and prepare budget request and present budget requests to county judge and commissioner’s court.
- Schedules and processes conferences and reimbursement for the Judge to prepare Judge's packet for conference and prepayment is made and reimbursement is timely processed.
- Requests and schedules visiting Judges when the assigned Judge is out, or a recusal is being processed so that the court maintains its course of business.
- Works with Technology Services as point of contact to maintain the equipment functioning in the Courtroom and offices.
- Requests maintenance of offices and courtrooms through with the Maintenance Department to ensure that there is not any damage or loss of property or facility and to insure ideal conditions in the office and courtroom.
- Processes time and reports for payroll by computer, email and mail to ensure accurate accounting of time is reported and paid timely.
- Processes communication by mail, email, phone and in person to set hearings, schedule hearing dates ensure the court hearing runs smoothly.
- Creates orders, judgements, charge of the court for hearings before, during and after hearings.
- Performs related work as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by one (1) year of clerical or administrative support experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Physical Demands:
- Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Special Certifications and Licenses:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language.
