Description
The Global Systems Support Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration, maintenance, and support of the company's IT infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments. This role helps ensure the stability, security, and reliability of core systems while providing technical support for infrastructure, networking, identity management, and backup solutions.
The position supports key platforms including Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365/Azure, Nutanix virtualization, backup and recovery systems, Fortinet networking equipment, and enterprise wireless infrastructure. The Systems Support Administrator works closely with IT team members and business stakeholders to resolve issues, implement improvements, and maintain operational continuity.
Responsibilities
- Administer and support Windows servers, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and cloud services
- Perform routine system maintenance, patching, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Support backup and recovery processes and assist with disaster recovery testing activities
- Manage user accounts, permissions, Active Directory, Entra ID (Azure AD), Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP
- Assist with administration of firewalls, VPN connectivity, wireless networks, and network infrastructure
- Monitor system health and respond to infrastructure alerts and service disruptions
- Troubleshoot server, network, identity, and cloud-related issues and escalate complex problems when necessary
- Maintain technical documentation, procedures, and asset inventories
- Support infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system implementations
- Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and guidance to the Service Desk and end users
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience supporting Windows server environments, infrastructure, or systems administration
- Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft 365 administration
- Basic understanding of virtualization platforms such as Nutanix, VMware, or Hyper-V
- Familiarity with backup and recovery solutions
- Working knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VPNs, wireless networking, and firewalls
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based services
- Experience with Fortinet, Aruba, or similar networking technologies
- Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring tools and ticketing systems
- Basic PowerShell scripting or automation experience
- Associate-level certifications are a plus, such as:
- Microsoft Fundamentals or Administrator certifications
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Fortinet Certified Associate (FCA)
Compensation Information:
Base Salary $ 65,000-75,000 yearly
