About the role
As a Senior Product Engineer, you will be an experienced technical contributor supporting the quality, reliability and manufacturability of Dyson Digital Motor products. You will manage assigned engineering workstreams across NPI support, component qualification, manufacturing issue resolution and product improvement activities, working closely with internal teams, suppliers and contract manufacturers to deliver practical, data-driven engineering solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Support assigned NPI component activities, including qualification planning, build readiness, validation follow-up and engineering closure.
- Manage component qualification tasks, engineering changes, vendor validation and cost-improvement activities within agreed project scope.
- Investigate component variation, raw material issues, assembly concerns, customer returns and manufacturing performance risks using structured problem-solving methods.
- Drive root-cause analysis, containment actions, CAPA follow-up and process capability improvements for assigned engineering issues.
- Review change requests, deviations, waivers, control builds and production risks, providing data-based recommendations for technical decision-making.
- Analyse motor tester performance, Cpk, GR&R, validation data and test robustness to support measurement confidence and product quality.
- Work with contract manufacturers on 8D investigations, reject analysis, corrective actions and process stabilisation activities.
- Prepare clear engineering reports covering investigation findings, qualification results, risk assessment and recommended next steps.
- Collaborate with operations, quality, supply chain, procurement, suppliers and contract manufacturers to resolve technical issues and share good engineering practices.
About you
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
- 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in electronics or precision manufacturing, with hands-on exposure to NPI support, component qualification, engineering investigations or manufacturing improvement projects.
- Strong understanding of power electronics, mechanical stack-up, motor design, motor function, reliability and motor test processes.
- Knowledge of ANOVA, AQL, SQC, DOE, Cpk, GR&R and statistical quality control methods.
- Proficiency in Six Sigma problem-solving techniques; Lean Manufacturing experience is an advantage.
- Able to analyse complex quality issues, identify root causes and recommend practical, data-driven solutions.
- Able to communicate technical findings clearly, support cross-functional discussions and provide practical recommendations.
- Willing to share technical knowledge and support team problem-solving when required.
- Able to distinguish coloured wires, signals, indicators or labels, as required for safe performance of duties.
- Self-motivated, hands-on and able to work under pressure while maintaining quality, delivery and business focus.
Benefits
You will be part of a highly collaborative engineering and manufacturing environment where ideas, ownership and continuous improvement matter. This is an opportunity to develop technical capability, contribute to product and process performance, and support the delivery of Dyson’s advanced manufacturing ambitions through safe, reliable and high-quality production operations.
