Description

Who We Are

We are an award-winning independent creative solutions company that aspires to be the most culturally-influential company in the world. We help ambitious brands harness the power of culture to solve their biggest challenges. As a unique mix of experts in culture, technology, and storytelling, we are united by a passion to grow brands in ways that advertising alone can never do.

We are an entrepreneurial business – not a traditional “ad agency.” That means we value resourcefulness and tenacity just as much as we value creativity and intelligence. We’re unapologetically ambitious!

We are seeking a Business Supervisor to support an exciting account. This role is hybrid and requires 4 days a week in our Brooklyn office, with 1 day remote.

Position Summary

The Business Supervisor (BS) is the day-to-day client partnership lead, responsible for managing client communication, translating business needs into actionable direction, and ensuring clarity across internal teams. Serving as the critical connection point between Business Leadership and Program Management, the Business Supervisor helps create exceptional client experiences while enabling efficient delivery.

This role operates with guidance while independently managing day-to-day client relationships and workstreams. Business Supervisors build trusted client partnerships, drive alignment across disciplines, proactively manage expectations, and help ensure every engagement is strategically grounded and executionally set up for success.

What You'll Do

Client Partnership & Communication

  • Own day-to-day client relationships and communication across assigned workstreams.
  • Lead routine client meetings, status calls, working sessions, and follow-up communications.
  • Build trust through proactive communication, responsiveness, and thoughtful partnership.
  • Ensure every client interaction is organized, productive, and aligned against business objectives.

Translation & Alignment

  • Translate client needs, feedback, and business objectives into clear direction for internal teams.
  • Partner closely with Strategy, Context, Creative, and Business Directors to develop and refine creative briefs.
  • Ensure cross-functional teams understand priorities, expectations, success metrics, and next steps.
  • Create alignment between client goals and agency recommendations throughout the life of a project.

Creative Development Support

  • Prepare clients for presentations and key decision-making moments.
  • Help articulate strategic and creative rationale in a clear, compelling, and client-ready manner.
  • Anticipate client feedback and guide internal teams on effective responses.
  • Support creative development by ensuring work remains aligned to client objectives and approved strategy.

Risk & Expectation Management

  • Proactively identify risks, ambiguities, or changing client needs before they become issues.
  • Manage client expectations through transparent communication and thoughtful problem solving.
  • Resolve day-to-day challenges independently, escalating only when appropriate.
  • Ensure alignment between what clients expect and what teams are prepared to deliver.

Team Contribution & Development

  • Mentor junior Business Leadership team members in client communication, relationship management, and presentation skills.
  • Support Business Directors in strengthening client relationships and identifying opportunities for organic growth.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and positive team environment across disciplines.
  • Model strong judgment, professionalism, and ownership in client-facing situations.

Partnership with Program Management

  • Partner closely with Program Management to ensure alignment between client expectations and delivery plans.
  • Support scope definition by helping clarify client objectives, priorities, and desired outcomes.
  • Maintain awareness of timelines, budgets, and executional progress while allowing Program Management to lead delivery.
  • Work collaboratively to ensure clients receive a seamless experience from strategy through execution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in advertising, marketing, consulting, or related client leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusted client relationships and manage day-to-day business communications.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including Strategy, Creative, Production, Context, and Program Management.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional organization and attention to detail.
  • Experience mentoring junior team members and contributing to a collaborative team culture.
  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing, creative development, and client service best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field preferred.

Salary Hiring Range: $83,000 - 100,000

Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide (e.g. bonus, stock options, 401(k) match, etc.)

Individual pay rate decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company.  We expect the majority of the candidates who are offered roles at our company to fall healthily throughout the range based on these factors.

The range above is for the expectations as laid out in the job description, however we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted.  If that ends up being the case, the updated salary range will be communicated with you as a candidate.

The salary range above is for the NY/CA.  As a company, we have a location based strategy, which means the salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired in another location.
