Job Title: Business Development Officer
Department: Banking
FLSA: Exempt
General Function: The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving growth by identifying new business opportunities, expanding client relationships, and increasing revenue within the bank’s target markets. This role focuses on developing strategic partnerships, generating new commercial and retail banking opportunities, and promoting all Midwest Heritage products and services.

Positions that Report to you:
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve loan, deposit, and revenue growth goals
Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities with commercial, agricultural, and retail clients
Loan Officer - Originates all types of loans
Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients, community partners, and centers of influence
Collaborate with lending, treasury management, and retail teams to deliver comprehensive financial solutions
Analyze market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to inform growth strategies
Represent the bank at networking events, community organizations, and industry functions
Maintain a strong pipeline of prospects and track activities through CRM systems
Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or related field
7+ years of experience in banking, financial services, or business development
Proven track record of generating new business and meeting or exceeding sales goals
Established network within the local market preferred
Physical Requirements:
This position is classified as sedentary/light and requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.
Visual requirements include ability to see detail at near range with or without correction.
Must be able to perform the following physical activities: sitting for long periods, talking (in person and by telephone), hearing and repetitive motions.
Working Conditions:
The duties of this position are normally performed in a general office setting. This is a fast paced work environment.
There is frequent pressure to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects in a day.
Contacts: This position works with Midwest Heritage employees, bank customers, Hy-Vee employees, vendors and outside agents doing direct business with Midwest Heritage.
