Supply Chain Project Coordinator (NPI), Team Lead

Hexagon's Autonomous Solutions division is looking for a Team Lead, Supply Chain Project Coordination to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. Reporting to the Director, Supply Chain, this role will provide day-to-day leadership and coordination for Supply Chain Project Coordinators while leading supply chain execution for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects from development through production release.

Responsibilities

 

As Team Lead, Supply Chain Project Coordination you will be responsible for these activities:

• Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and support to Supply Chain Project Coordinators and assigned purchasing resources, including workload coordination, priority setting, and quality review.
• Lead supply chain execution for assigned NPI projects from early development through prototype, pilot, production release, and transfer to sustaining operations.
• Lead cross-functional NPI meetings, track schedules and deliverables, follow up on actions, and escalate material, supplier, cost, and manufacturing-readiness risks.
• Develop and maintain NPI build plans aligned with engineering maturity, build quantities, supplier lead times, and manufacturing requirements.
• Perform BOM analysis covering revisions, quantities, approved sources, lifecycle status, lead times, MOQ, inventory availability, sourcing gaps, and cost exposure.
• Assess BOM and engineering changes for impacts to purchase orders, inventory, project cost, clear-to-build status, and excess or obsolete material.
• Execute tactical purchasing activities as required, including purchase requisitions, PO placement, supplier acknowledgements, delivery-date maintenance, expediting, and discrepancy resolution.
• Coordinate RFQs, quotation reviews, supplier escalations, alternate supply, and risk-buy requirements with Procurement and Supplier Quality.
• Coordinate PCBA and product-level prototype and pilot builds at contract manufacturers and internal manufacturing sites.
• Own clear-to-build reporting, including inventory, open purchase orders, shortages, supplier commitments, receipt dates, actions, and recovery plans.
• Create and maintain Excel files for BOM analysis, shortage tracking, PO status, inventory reconciliation, build plans, risks, actions, and costs.
• Manage and reconcile project inventory across internal sites, contract manufacturers, suppliers, consigned stock, and work in process.
• Maintain accurate project, purchasing, forecast, BOM, and engineering-change information in ERP and data-management systems.
• Manage the NPI-to-Sustaining transfer and ensure supply chain deliverables, system releases, material disposition, documentation, and ownership handoffs are complete.
• Establish consistent working practices, templates, controls, and lessons learned across the team.

 

Qualifications

Must Have:

• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in procurement, material planning, sourcing, project supply chain, or manufacturing operations, including NPI experience.
• Demonstrated experience coaching team members, coordinating work, setting priorities, and leading cross-functional execution.
• Hands-on experience managing purchase orders, supplier commitments, shortages, BOMs, inventory, and clear-to-build reporting.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience maintaining accurate, traceable project control files.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, resolve roadblocks, and escalate significant risks with clear recommendations.
• Experience using ERP or MRP systems and working in a continuous-improvement environment.
• Ability to work in the office as required.

 

Nice To Have:

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Electronics manufacturing experience, including PCBAs, electronic components, contract manufacturers, prototype and pilot builds, and production transfer.
• Experience with SAP, Syteline, Power BI, Microsoft Project, or product data management systems.
• Professional supply chain designation or Lean/continuous-improvement experience.
