Job Description:
Works with development engineers to develop, execute, and track the testing of new and existing products and accessories. Creates test cases that will ensure the reliable operation of the products including four-corner testing. Works with customer support to reproduce customer problems for engineering. Develops test methods to be used from engineering specifications. Reads and interprets diagrams, schematics and drawings to isolate issues found in testing.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
- Developing and executing comprehensive test strategies for BESS hardware, software, component and system-level validation.
- Researching and implementing new trends, tools, and technologies to enhance testing methodologies and stay at the forefront of industry advancements.
- Driving test automation to streamline validation processes and improve efficiency.
- Managing testing initiatives across the globe to evaluate performance, reliability, safety, and environmental durability of the Fluence Products.
- Collaborate with technical director on design, development, and upgrading lab infrastructure to meet advanced testing requirements.
- Collaborate with technical director to integrate advanced testing technologies, such as hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and digital twins, into workflows.
- Expand test engineering team operations to global scale including US, Germany, India, and any other future lab sites.
- Manage a global test engineering team and establish a uniform, sustainable working environment, infrastructure and process.
- Coach, Mentor and train team of engineers and technicians in various topics including achieving validation objectives.
- Promoting cross-functional collaboration with R&D, product management, and manufacturing teams.
- Establishing KPIs for validation programs and ensuring timely reporting of test results and progress.
- Driving continuous improvement by implementing best practices and optimizing testing methodologies.
What will our ideal candidate bring to Fluence?
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
- Strong program management skills, including experience with scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for engaging with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on identifying risks and optimization.
- PMP certification or equivalent project management experience is preferred.
- Experience in energy storage system commissioning and troubleshooting is a plus.
