Brookings Health System is looking for an experienced leader to fill the position as Human Resources Director.
Brookings Health system is a non-profit City owned health organization offering a full range of inpatient, outpatient, surgery, home health and extended care services. The health system includes the 49-bed Brookings Hospital; a 79-bed skilled nursing home, The Neighborhoods at Brookview; congregate living apartments for seniors, Brookhaven Estates; Arlington Medical Center; White Medical Clinic; Volga Medical Clinic and Yorkshire Eye Clinic.
Under the general direction of the CEO and in collaboration with management throughout Brookings Health System, the Human Resources Director assures the development and delivery of effective human resources policies, programs, and systems that support the culture and work force. The Human Resources Director has system responsibility for managing the following human resources functions: recruitment and retention, training and development, employee relations, compensation and benefits, EEO and regulatory compliance, performance management, organizational development, and Human Resources information systems management. Additionally, this position will oversee the facility-wide workers’ compensation program and insurance administration.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five (5) years progressive human resource management experience required.
Demonstrated human resources generalist competencies, including the functional areas of employee relations, compensation, benefits, training and development, recruitment, and employee health and wellness.
Excellent communication skills to include oral and written comprehension/expression.
Ability to work in a stressful environment, manage a heavy workload, balance changing priorities and deadlines.
Ability to offer advice and counsel both management and employees in the resolution of employee relations issues and concerns.
Talent to sustain and enhance a culture where team members feel valued and rewarded.
Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards for performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect).
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification preferred.
