What we want

The Postdoctoral Research Associate with the Department of Construction Science at Texas A&M University, under general supervision, is responsible for conducting research into their field of expertise. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will utilize the skills and expertise granted to them by their education and experience to complete research projects in their field of expertise. Writes and may contribute to research papers, articles, and publications. Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite. May collaborate with other researchers and/or faculty.

Position Details: Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.

Other Requirements and Factors:

• This Postdoctoral Research Associate position will require approximately 100% effort dedicated to research activities, with an anticipated duration of 9 months, contingent upon project funding and performance. Due to this position’s salary having all or a portion of it funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.

• May have to work on the weekend and/or after normal hours.

• May travel as required in-state and out-of-state.

• This position is security sensitive and must sat

• This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.

• All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.

Machines and Equipment:

• Operational knowledge of laboratory equipment for mechanical testing of concrete materials

• Operational knowledge of equipment for 3D Printing of concrete materials

• Operational knowledge of laboratory equipment for nondestructive testing of concrete materials

Physical Requirements:

• Able to lift 50 lb load

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

• PhD in civil engineering or related field.

• 2 years of experience with 3D-printing of concrete materials and/or other relevant materials.

• 2 years of experience conducting experimental research in materials laboratory.

Essential Duties/Tasks

Research

• Under general supervision, is responsible for conducting research into their field of expertise.

• Utilizes knowledge and skills granted to them by their education and expertise to complete research projects in their field of expertise.

• Assists with the preparation and cleaning of worksite.

• Analyzes research data and summarizes results.

• Writes and may contribute to research report, papers, articles, and publications.

Mentoring ​  

• May assist, mentor, and/or supervise student researchers and/or graduate students who are working on research related to the project.

Presentations ​

• Prepares presentation materials on research topic

• Actively participates in the preparation of required technical progress reports to research sponsors.
