Role summary:
The (USA) Lead Technician, Facility Services, Exterior Services - US, oversees and supports associates by assigning tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to company policies and safety standards. This role manages landscape maintenance, seasonal exterior activities, and equipment operation while coordinating resources to maintain facility quality and compliance. The position involves training, coaching, and evaluating team members, managing budgets, and implementing improvements to optimize operations. The Lead Technician serves as a technical expert, promotes continuous improvement, and ensures a safe, efficient, and well-maintained exterior environment aligned with Walmart’s operational goals.
About the team:
The Facility Services Exterior Services team ensures Walmart locations remain safe, clean, and well-maintained through seasonal exterior maintenance such as snow and ice control, landscaping, and equipment upkeep. This team coordinates repairs, manages third-party providers, and implements cost-effective solutions while adhering to safety and environmental standards. They support operational excellence and compliance with company policies, fostering professional growth. Their collaborative efforts maintain quality and safety requirements, contributing to a positive environment for associates and customers across all facilities.
What you'll do:

• Supervise and support associates by assigning duties, providing feedback, and monitoring performance to ensure quality and safety standards.
• Train and coach associates on company policies, procedures, and compliance with external regulations such as OSHA and DOT.
• Manage landscape maintenance using horticultural methods, including planting, pruning, pest control, and seasonal exterior tasks like snow and ice management.
• Operate, inspect, and maintain heavy machinery and vehicles, ensuring safety and proper documentation.
• Coordinate equipment purchases, budget preparation, and cost management for facility improvements.
• Lead teams to meet business priorities, promote continuous improvement, and uphold company values and ethics.

What you'll bring:

• Proven leadership experience in supervising, coaching, and developing associates to achieve performance goals.
• Strong knowledge of horticulture, landscaping techniques, and exterior facility maintenance practices.
• Ability to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and DOT.
• Skilled in operating, inspecting, and maintaining heavy machinery and powered equipment safely.
• Experience managing budgets, sourcing materials, and coordinating equipment purchases.
• Proficient in leveraging technology to complete work orders and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills to resolve facility-related issues effectively.

The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 - $45.00* *The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications...

Ability to to successfully complete a DOT physical and secure medical certification during pre-hire contingency and ability to maintain a minimum of a 90 day Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC) card.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and able to pass a motor vehicle report.
No convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI, or reckless driving involving alcohol or drugs within the last three (3) years.
No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years, if driving a commercial motor vehicle.
No serious traffic violations (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle.
No preventable accidents (as defined by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations) in the last 3 years, if operating a commercial motor vehicle
As required by section 391.11(b)(2) of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, ability to read and speak in the English language.
2 years’ experience in the landscaping/gardening industry.
