Lead-In-Training: Furniture Assembly & Delivery Driver (Non-CDL)

We are looking for a Lead-In-Training—an experienced driver and craftsman who wants to start on the road and quickly step up into team leadership. You will begin by mastering our high-end delivery routes and technical assemblies, with a clear trajectory to oversee field operations, mentor crew members, and manage client satisfaction on-site. Primary Role: Delivery, Driving & Assembly 

• Safe Transportation: Safely operate a box truck along local routes, executing daily pre-trip inspections and maintaining a clean driving record.
• White-Glove Assembly: Professionally assemble complex, high-end contemporary furniture according to manufacturer specifications.
• On-Site Client Experience: Serve as the face of Scan Design, providing exceptional customer service, protecting client property during setup, and leaving a spotless workspace.
• Heavy Freight Handling: Safely load, unload, and maneuver luxury furniture (up to 75 lbs regularly) through tight hallways and stairwells.
• Damage Control: Conduct meticulous pre-load and post-assembly inspections, reporting any discrepancies immediately.

Growth Opportunities: Leadership & Operational Functions 

• Route & Team Leadership: Direct on-site delivery helpers, delegating tasks effectively to keep routes running safely and on schedule.
• Quality Assurance Walkthroughs: Lead final inspections with clients, addressing high-level questions, resolving on-site concerns, and securing final service sign-offs.
• Process & Fleet Oversight: Assist warehouse and delivery management with load planning, vehicle maintenance tracking, and training new delivery staff.
• Escalation Management: Serve as the primary field liaison between clients, store managers, and warehouse operations to resolve rare delivery or product issues on the spot.

Requirements

Requirements

• Driving Experience: 3+ years of experience safely operating a box truck (or similar commercial vehicle).
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR check required).
• Leadership Potential: Strong desire and demonstrated capacity to step into a supervisory/lead role within the team.
• Technical Skills: High proficiency using power/hand tools, reading assembly diagrams, and working with luxury furniture or high-end goods.
• Physical Capability: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy furniture for 8+ hours per day.
• Professionalism: Excellent communication skills, polished appearance, and absolute punctuality.
