Salary: $100,340.00 to $135,055.00 Annually

The Director of Emergency Department (ED) is a Registered Nurse responsible for the clinical and operational leadership of Emergency Services, with 24-hour accountability for the department.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CNO or Administrator, this leader oversees patient care, nursing staff, ED operations, staffing, quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement.

• Lead daily clinical and operational functions of the Emergency Department
• Supervise, develop, and evaluate ED nursing staff.
• Oversee staffing, productivity, patient flow, throughput, and resource utilization.
• Drive quality, patient safety, performance improvement, and regulatory compliance.
• Partner with physicians, nursing leadership, and hospital administration to improve ED operations and patient outcomes.
• Provide leadership during emergencies, critical events, and hospital codes.
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, employee engagement, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

 

1.      Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.

2.      Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.3.      Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate upon hire and maintain current.4.      Current PALS upon hire and maintain current.5.      Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.6.      A minimum of two years supervisory/management experience necessary.7.      Minimum of three years of continuous clinical experience in a clinical/acute care setting.8.      Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required for all new hires after 1/11/2021. 

Facility Specific Requirements (facility may require items listed below):

 

1.      Non-OB facilities: NRP certificate within 30 days upon hire and maintain current.

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $100,340.00 to $135,055.00 on an annualized basis. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
