What You Will Do

The Operations Director is the Site Leader for Bedok Ops and is overall responsible for the site.

He/ She provides vision and long term strategy to grow the business and for effective operations at the site to excel in meeting customer expectation and GOPS business objectives, ensuring alignment with company’s long-term strategic goals. These business objectives include but no limited to Environment, Health & Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Operations Excellence.

Role & Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Execution:

• Create and implement operational strategies aligned with the company’s overall objectives and ensure long-term operational planning to meet future demand and technological advancements.
• Production Management: Ensure that production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards and manage capacity to ensure that production meets customer demands without overextending resources.

Quality Assurance and Control:

• Implement and maintain stringent quality control processes to meet standards required in aerospace manufacturing and ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and certifications.

Financial Management:

• Develop and manage operational budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial efficiency, and implement cost control measures and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce operational expenses.

Resource Management:

• Oversee allocation and optimization of resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure a consistent supply of high-quality materials.

Technology and Innovation:

• Stay abreast of technological advancements and integrate new technologies to improve production processes and drive innovation in manufacturing processes to enhance productivity and product quality.

Leadership:

• Provide leadership and direction to the operations team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, and oversee recruitment, training, and development of staff to build a skilled and motivated workforce.

Continuous Improvement:

• Mature CORE operating system to streamline operations and eliminate waste, and continuously seek opportunities to improve processes, reduce cycle times, and increase efficiency.

Safety and Risk Management:

• Develop and enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all employees and identify potential risks in operations and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.

Environmental and Sustainability:

• Promote and implement sustainable manufacturing practices to minimize environmental impact and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.

Ethics & Export Compliance:

• Partner with site Global Trade and Ethic officers to establish processes and drive a compliance culture.

 

Qualifications You Must Have

• Minimum education of a Degree Engineering preferable in Mechanical/ Manufacturing/ Aerospace
• MBA or APICS Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) added adventage.
• At least 15 years of related experiences in Manufacturing industry; and at least 10 years demonstrated progressive managerial experiences.
• Financial & management accounting knowledge
